If i were you i wont put my watches on the table..I rather put a soft cloth or something not ever make a scratch on my bracelet..😚 just 2 cents from me..
The biggest attraction for this watch has to be its genius function. The rotating month, jumping hour hand and all controlled with that bezel. I really think Rolex solved a problem that didn’t need solving, but the solution was so elegant that it won the hearts of those who know.
This is the Rolex that the Chinese can't replicate. This is really the only Rolex worth buying because all the others have almost perfect replicas available.
It’s all good. Everything is superficial. What matters the most is that you are excited about your new watch. As long as it makes you happy everyone else’s sentiment does not really matter. Enjoy your new watch in good health.
Hope they introduce a sky dweller completely stainless steel without the fluted bezel @ 40 mm if they do the wait list for it would be higher than the daytona Speaking of which how much above retail did you have to pay for the Daytona ?????
Jaspreet I agree that the SkyDweller could have been a little slimmer and maybe 1mm smaller. That Daytona I bought from a grey dealer with no box and no papers for $12500. It is now sold and replaced with two ceramic Daytonas one black and last summer a white faced one. Both at the same Authorized Dealer that sold me the SkyDweller. So those are at retail. I then found the same V serial black dial 116520 Daytona from a friend of a friend that never wore. Full set box and papers. New Old Stock with most of the stickers on and bought it for my son for 14,5 k USD. So a premium but not a crazy one. Now a days you need 18-19 k for a used one. Daytona’s keep on getting more and more expensive by the day.
The Watch Enthusiast could not agree with you more on the skydweller. You seem to hit the jackpot by getting the Daytona on retail.Since in India AD’s have not received a single Daytona or the gmt masters 2 the past 3 years. I think there is madness for Rolex sports models similar to the bubble back phase in the 80’s. I think a decade down the line a new model would create the same madness what a nautilus or Daytona is doing currently. Wonder what would it be 🧐.
I have a ss black sub, two tone blue sub, polar explorer 2 , and now a black Daytona. My goal one day is to own this one. I hear it’s harder to get than the Daytona
Enthusiasm of yours shows how unprofessional and ignorant you are towards to watch!! 1- NEVER DO NOTHING WITH CROWN USING ONE FINGER !!! 2- NEVER CHANGE NONE OF WATCH COMPLICATIONS VERY FAST ignoring that rules you’ll mess up the watch movement from first day!!!!
I was lucky . Under 1 year. I prepaid for it in full and I got the first one they got which was about 10 months . I couldn't do this after 2017. They stopped taking all prepaid orders in mid 2018. I was able to get all the "hot" watches that way .
@@thewatchenthusiast5729 wow! That was fast. Yes, it’s probably much different now. I had to wait 10 months to get an AirKing. I would guess it would be years to get a SkyDweller now.
Nice unboxing.ignore the haters- nowt better to do.pls do a six month re-visit vid. I recently picked up a Z-Blue Milgauss and also enjoy when Rolex drops some colour to their dials
I just read your description. I feel the same way with the general public. You'd think that people who grew to this level and can afford luxury items have a bigger mindset right? No... 1/2 at least are dipshits who most likely use credit card or take a loan to pay for their watches and their watches define them. So IGNORE these people. On the positive side, congrats on your watch... enjoy it, take good care of it. I'm a little anal so I am very careful when I wind up my watches just to I preserve the gears better. But that's me... I'm paranoid =)
I purchased 2 new Rolex this year, an Explorer 1 39mm Mark 2 dial and a Ceramic Submariner no date from a local AD. I know that they are not as expensive as yours, but I would never clack them all over on a wooden service.
Bryan that is great for you. I assure you that the smooth , soft wooden surface did them no harm. The “clacking” you are hearing is the very sensitive microphone in a confined space that exaggerates the force you think that they are hitting the surface.
Most beautiful modern rolex design ever among the Rolex lineup, most importantly sky dweller have the complicated movement rolex ever make, sky dweller win over Daytona.
I just purchased the 2018 Rolex GMT Master ll Root-Beer as my engagement watch for our upcoming wedding and couldn't be happier with our first Rolex purchase. With that being said we're currently posting some reviews-videos while enjoy this amazing time piece and we wanted to say thank you for all you're provided content and shared knowledge which is definitely useful when learning more about other Rolex options such as the Sky Dweller "Hopefully an future purchase" down the road. On that note keep up the great work-content and enjoy the Holidays!
At last - a TRUE unboxing video, congratulation to you my friend. However, a few things I need answers to or I will forever be tormented by the not knowing.... 1. What was in the second box? 2. If you were filming in the AD and trying on the watch, why did it have to be posted to you, why didn't you just buy it while you were there? 3. Where in the world is this magical AD that has all those impossible to find SS sports models in stock???? I need to go there right now! Please put me out of my misery by answering all these questions... thank you
I noticed that as well. Something fishy about this dude. Notice how the Sky Dweller came boxed but never needed to be adjusted? How coincidental was that?
Nice Skydweller. Same model I want. I just can't get the AD to sell me one. Pricks are holding onto it for their free spending customers. I figure you yourself must spend over $100,000 a year at the AD in order to score this piece.
sdemosi Thanks for the comments. I love my blue Sky Dweller. It’s a very beautiful watch and the annual calendar plus GMT complications are great. The easiness of the setup is amazing do to that command bezel. It’s a breeze. You choose what you want to adjust or setup with the bezel position and done without interfering with the other functions of the watch. Very cool engineering. In the other hand the simplicity of the submariner is quite the opposite. The symmetry and balance of that dial is amazing. The simplicity of just telling time with the robustness of the watch is very much its attraction as well as the beauty of it. You wear the sub and you don’t have to worry about many things. The watch will go through thick and thin with you and come out ticking as well as continuing looking good.i do however miss the date complication occasionally on the sub.
well you gotta have one of each for all occasions, you have to have a blue dial sport rolex, black dial sport rolex, a blue dial dress rolex, a black dial dress rolex and one in each in gold, rose gold, and silver. thats my opinion anyway i think its more of my OCD. lol super nice watch though one of my favs. wear it in good health.
This is the Rolex i Love! One day it will be mine too. The Blue is the most Beauty! Daytona is nice too, but the Skydweller is the Eyecatcher next to it!
Der Strudeltaucher check Audemars Piguet watch and you’ll never remember those )))) model for start is Royal Oak 15400 got blue, white, black and rare antracite or light grey dial and it’s amazing!! Starting price without complications is $23500
this is a very special collection from rolex. its so cool!!!! is this the steel version? and what is your other collection? Keep the videos coming!! i love your video, its so clear and you focus up close. NICE NICE NICE. how do you rate this watch compared to your other watches?
I don’t think so Mark. You have made it in life when you are surrounded by good friends and loving family. When we are genuinely happy. A nice car a great watch is not what really defines us. It’s all superficial. Nice to have as long as their importance is not overvalued.
Yep, the blue was definitely the way to go. Utube can be brutal, lots of trolls, pay them no mind. You should edit a little to improve your content. Also brush up on some of the terminology, like reference number for example. I really liked your sea dweller comparison. I'm waiting for the 126600 myself. Your blessed to get yours. Keep up the good work. Its a learning process. watch the other guys and put your own personality into it and you will do fine.
Very nice watch. Unfortunately, my AD has already informed me that the blue Sky Dweller will be discontinued this year for its tenth anniversary (launched in 2012). New Dial coming. Since my AD has always been right in the past, the watch will probably cost €50,000 and more soon this year.
I've tried the Sky-dweller my myself, it's quite a piece, but it's heavy and big!..... PLEASE, do two things. When handling your watch use white cloves and cover your granite Kitchen Top with a soft cloth, you are asking for a crash! Lastly, before EVER setting your Rolex (or any other brand), FIRST, winder the hands through a full 24 hours forwards and make the adjustments when the watch is at midday........, you didn't check this and it could have been at midnight which might damage the date mechanism, especially one as complex as this!.......... Nice watch for sure. Mark
Thanks Mark for the advise. I will do that. I learned about the 9 pm to 12 midnight mechanics when it comes to date setting. I also have gotten some white cloves and will use them in the future.
yes, I am familiar with the 9pm to 3am routine, but midday is the safest in all complications and the Rolex you demonstrated, you wound it up way way to hard, you twisted and turned without noticing the hands were at 12. o Clock and didn't check this first. This is not a criticism, it's shows you know nothing about the true working inside this master piece you just paid x thousands for!.........it goes like this. Unpack it on a soft surface, winder downside always. Handle with gloves, not greasy hot hands. Check the case for damage first. Then, set the bezel to wind the watch, 10 gentle turns is more than enough, then let the Rolex do it's work. You then turn the bezel to setting the main time, because the date changes on the big hands, not on the GMT lower dial. Once you have established noon, you can then turn the bezel one more click and set the rest up, as you demonstrated. I am simply trying to stop you destroying a beautiful watch. You need knowlege, not money to truly know about horology and it's complications.
Is it just me or is this guy not scratching the shit out of that bracelet flailing it around like that? I mean I'm not trying to be a "hater" and it's his watch he can do with it w/ever he pleases... BUT, geez...
Nice watch. Seems a bit big in size i have found from looking at my friends 2 tone one. I also think you wear your watches a link too big. they should sit back on the wrist more so your hand can move about and be unrestricted. Thanks
I’m on the waiting list for the S/s blue Skydweller, told it’s unlikely to be less than five years! Meantime I’m planning to pick up a gold Navitimer and a gold perpetual calendar to keep myself amused....
Both of my SkyDwellers do. It gets a little better over time but I was surprised with that too. I thought I got a defected one when I got my first back in December. A little disappointing on an otherwise excellent watch that I love. I believe that is coming from the end links and not the bracelet itself. I could be wrong though.
