Hi there, this is Watch Fan Henry and this is my part 3 of my 3 part video series on my Rolex Watch Shop tour of Frankfurt Germany, filmed during late October and early November of 2023. I was in Frankfurt for a week and spent several days scouting out the various ROLEX watch shops, both the new authorized dealer sellers and the vintage ROLEX sellers in these videos. I was hoping to show a sampling of the leading Rolex watch stores that can be found in Frankfurt. I was also hoping to show a sampling of their ROLEX watch inventories, and the prices that one can expect to pay if hoping to buy a ROLEX watch in Frankfurt, Germany. In this 3rd and final part of the 3 part series, I visit the following Frankfurt watch shops:

Bratwursts are my favourite, remember them when I was living in Germany, late 80's to early 90's. I was a swatch wearing guy then 😊

Germany is great for a watch fans exactly!! .. on more than one level .. the food is 20 out of 10 .. huge portions at reasonable prices! So watch fans can be very well fed doing the watch tours at any German city! It’s all good fun.

How is it possible that Rolex AD’s across the USA and Europe all say”we have no inventory for sale” yet these expensive stores keep their lights on, and the grey market has all sorts of Rolex inventory to sell and immediately deliver? What say you Rolex?

It is completely bizarre. I guess there are people that are connected to the authorized dealers and the watches are being sold out the back door on these private sales, and then the watches are sold at higher prices on eBay and through the Rolex preowned shops (where the Rolex watches, sell far excessive the list prices) and somehow that money flows back to the authorized dealer and Rolex. They have made a mockery of the Rolex price list and they’ve removed the public from getting access to purchasing Rolexes at those list prices. I think it’s a disgrace that Rolex has become this sort of market manipulator now. As it really does put a black eye on their hundred year reputation as a quality brand. It is a total farce. it is my view that in life, karma plays a big role, and when business or people treat others in a poor way karma usually will address the situation, one way or another.

Was in Vegas in late December. Went to like 5 ADs. None of them would sell a Rolex. I was more than prepared to buy a new RootBeer.

Thank you so much for the update on Vegas. I remember loving all the awesome Rolex shops on the strip. I recall at Caesars Palace they had a couple of good Rolex shops. I think there was also a Rolex shop in the shopping complex at the Bellagio. But this was about a decade ago the fact that none of them will sell you a Rolex is a joke. What we’re going to see is a flight of money from Europe and North America to Japan, because the Japanese are quite prepared to sell Rolex watches without the grotesque markup of North America and Europe.

09:26 When comparing with the current production model of the Rolex 126503, the position if the small dials and functions also changes, for instance, for instance the Daytona has a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock and 12-hour counter at 9 o'clock while the Zenith has 60-second counter at 3 o'clock and Small seconds at 9 o'clock.

Thank you for this additional detail information. I very much appreciate it. It’s not a watch that I know very much about as it is well beyond my means and I’ll probably never own one, but I certainly do like looking at them.

I think you are better of buying a second hand Rolex from a dealer and then have it serviced by Rolex afterwards. it's a lot cheaper to buy a watch that way and you get a 2 year warranty from Rolex as well. The additional benefits is that you can get the original paperwork and box as well which is really what you want as a collector. CPO doesn't provide you with that.

Totally agree a much smarter option. I think the CPO program is just far too greedy for what it is. This is the very first time I saw the CPO program in operation with my very own eyes. Granted the watches are beautiful and in great condition, with great history, and full set, etc. but it comes with a huge price.

German AD’s only sell to locals. Been like that for a long time. Did you stop at Sinn HQ?

Yes, I did go into the Sinn store but of course I didn’t film inside as I didn’t even want to bother asking the question. I always visit the Sinn store when I’m in Frankfurt, just to have a look at their newest pieces as I do like their work.

CPO is a rip off, the only people that will pay those prices is people that want a Pepsi or a Daytona and need to create history with the AD to get them.

I totally agree CPO doesn’t make much business sense on the whole the way I see it. Who’s going to go into a Rolex or Bucherer shop and buy a used watch for twice the price of the newest list price? I would think 95% of the people out there are simply going to wait until they can get the watch at the list price, however long it takes, I know that’s the case with me. My money is not burning a hole in my pocket and the day will come.

@@WatchFanHenry and the day will come sooner rather than later, grey watch market prices are plummeting, holiday season might save them a bit but I would bet that we will see watches available for purchase by march 2024. My AD is already selling ladies pieces to anyone that walks in, 2-3 months back they would not have anything, even ladies size pieces (31 and below).

@@WatchFanHenry There is a middle ground -- a lot of people buy from reputable grey dealers (or really used dealers) that aren't in the CPO program and the prices are much more reasonable. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on diamonds and jewelry, it's a great way to get your watch quickly for a smaller markup.

Both. I’ve been trying to buy new since 2019 and I have purchased some used pieces since then .. so I’m pretty much buying a watch every year. But I’m looking to buy a brand new watch and that hasn’t happened.
