I've been seeing these little diorama type projects come up on my amazon suggestions for a bit, I decided to spend a little bit and see how they go together. This is the first one of these that I've done, but they seem to be very similar to a lot of the other projects I've been doing as far as assembly goes.
This particular scene reminds me of platform 9 3/4 from the Harry Potter books.

I can't figure out what to do with the tapes, it just won't work for me. I bought new batteries, thinking my old ones were empty but that's not it. I've twisted the right colors together, it's just the tape part that's confusing to me.. Any tips?

You may want to try some small wire nuts, I've used them on other builds and they seem to be a bit more stable.
