Just to be clear... The honking was due to Mike trying to drive a dead vehicle with no power steering while filming(so you guys can watch)... And he kept bumping it accidentally. Had we had the headsets on, I still would have been stopping every time cuz I'm used to it meaning something bad is happening. We don't need the headsets in tows like this because we have done it so many times we each know what we need to do... But yes, I'm very aware of the humor of the headsets hanging in view as we yell at each other. Lol.

I think would be a great gesture on your behalf to get some copies of the Car and Driver magazine with Trailmater in it and give them to the runners up in the wrecker Olympics. I'm sure Matt and Paul and the others will cherish them forever.....lol

A little hard buffing and that body damage will come right out. 😏

I love that you have communication devices hanging off your mirror but you still rely on the horn to communicate even though the horn wasn't working properly

Today we got Rory and Mike helping TrailMater get one out. The toughest wrecker in the west doing what comes naturally. I love seeing a hard working truck make it look easy. Give TrailMater the credit for doing all the heavy lifting.

These guys are doing obstacles with one hand on the wheel and filming with the other on obstacles that I would be white knuckled with both hands on the wheel. The team there is fantastic. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.

I like how when Mike has the camera he has a great appreciation for the surrounding amazing landscape of the Moab area. I really appreciate seeing those amazing views again. I've been there many times and it never ever gets old. It's kind of like the mountains here in Colorado.

Ah, SO MANY people totally F-up their nice new off road rigs doing these kinds of trails, it's kinda sad and unfortunate... But a good learning experience for the people who do it, so they know their limits and (hopefully) not do it again... Not only that, but anyone watching these videos can learn from other's mistakes too!

I’m envious of how slick the ole truck shifts…I’ve got a 465/203/205 doubler and there’s no shifts into L/1 that easy and the triple T-case shifters all require force! Rory..you got some special lube in those gearboxes or has everything just got smooooth with use? I love Mikes disgust with that damn horn..finally gives up filming and focuses on driving.

Eric mentioned in one of his videos the rodeo was going to be after KOH and before EJS, not a lot of time for Matt and Paul to get their rigs running and the bugs worked out. I'm rooting for team Trail Mater!

Maybe you should put a yellow sticky in Trail Mater that says, “Check Mail Box”. Doesn’t this make two videos in a row where you forgot the keys? If that were me, I’d have to edit out all the cussing and kicking of things cause I forgot the keys and would probably have to stop filming altogether... if I hadn’t already tossed the GoPro over the hill. Just yesterday, I went out and started my rig and went back in the house to finish up the things I needed to do while the defroster melted the ice on the truck and got a semblance of heat going. When I went to leave, I found that I had somehow locked the doors with the keys in the ignition and truck running. Fortunately, I hadn’t locked the house yet, and just went in and got the spare keys.

Thanks from England + forgetting stuff (in my experience of me) means you are trying to do too much and not getting enough rest, overdue a holiday etc.

What’s the protocol if you do happen to meet someone? There doesn’t seem to be much room to pull over to the side. You need a hook (on the dash?) to hang keys, with a tag that says "do you have the keys?" For when you're going on a recovery.

Nice trail run. Got my M37 Light Wrecker moved to my new property and tucked in in her new barn yesterday. Woo hoo. Gotta rip apart the front axle, and find the noise. Then she be good to go. Love the film work, thanks for the entertainment. Almost got the wife convinced to hook the little camper to the K-15 and do a little dessert camping. Ain't been outta the PNW for a while. I am seeing a pattern here, Matt runs out of fuel, and Rory forgets the keys. Maybe write on the top of Trail Mater, (Do I have the keys?) Write it right next to something that you always look at. LOL At least Rory knows right where the keys are located. I still have not found my 50 tooth rear sprocket that I changed 4 months ago. It is inside my shop, SOMEWHERE, and it is not small!! (The sprocket, that is.) My shop is 36x36 with "stuff" all over. It is all GOOD stuff though. LOL

Talking about the granny low 1st gear, I wish the big 3 would build a simple work truck again. two-wheel drive four-wheel drive and the only luxury option is A/C. Have a half to a 1 ton rating available with a cast iron push rod V8 or something like to Ford 300 6 cylinder. Start these trucks at $20k and you would see them everywhere! I bought my last brand new truck in 2006 and it still looks new.

My oldest brother back in 1969 used to work summers at the Grand Canyon Service Station. He had a 57' Chevy pickup that he used on occasion to tow people out of the backwoods. It had a really low granny first gear. One person drove a Cadillac out to point sublime and got it stuck. He also had to deal with a hippie who got his VW bus stuck and the guy tried to stab him with a knife. But my brother had a pistol and threatened to blow the guys head off if he didn't pay up and drop the knife.

Does Trail Mater have a carb or do you use fuel injection ???? Have you considered a "preflight" list.... go through a list and check off that your ready for the call.... the keys would be on that list....
