Just purchase a SL66 I’m busting with excitement. It took me some time to “discover” the Rolliflex SL66, I’m so glad I waited and had the opportunity to purchase an outstanding example of the camera.

I could hear hammering in the background. Is that you getting another darkroom built or possibly a state of the art studio? I just got a SL66 today. Messed up loading two films somehow. They just kept winding and not stopping at frame 1? Also the focus action is - tight, then loose, then tight, etc.
Maybe the neighbors were doing something, no darkroom in this video. I hope your SL66 is not broken, one of mine is and its sad to see it sitting until I fix it. My focusing isn't like yours, maybe it just needs a CLA.
Good video indeed, maybe that you should have told to always operate the SL66 (loading film, changing lenses...) with the shutter cocked, this is an important rule.
I also own and use this camera and I took this advice from Gérard Métrot the french Rollei specialist, I do the same for my two SLR mamiya RB67 sd pro and SL66. I love my SL66 that I chose over a blad because thanks to its bellows the focusing distance is much closer. It can event take proxy photo inverting the lens ! The front tilt is also a great option, sadly history made things turn to the worst for Rollei...
@Nicos Photography Show Nice review and cameras - to the best of my knowledge - rule number one written in the manual: cock the shutter before you unload/reload the film or take off/on the magazin. There are reports that otherwise a mechanism in the camera can break/bend... never force the camera to something. Have you had problems with the magazine or the camera so far? Hola Jhon, la camara esta muy bien pero para mi esta limitada en accesorios. Y no es que no los hiciesen sino que al ser menos popular cuesta encontrar piezas. Por ejemplo los chasis de pelicula estan muy solicitados. Pero de calidad es una maravilla con algunas cosas nunca vistas en otras camaras de formato medio.
Hola Nico. Gracias por el video, muy claro. Tengo una duda con la rolleiflex sl66. Acabo de terminar mi primer rollo y ha sido un poco raro el final. Esperaba que como en la rolleiflex tlr que tengo cuando disparase la ultima foto rebobinara lo que quedaba de rollo con la palanca de avance. Pero no ha sido asi, ha cargado el obturador como anteriormente. Luego me he fijado que la rueda del chasis estaba fuera y he pensado que tenia que usarla para rebobinar el final del rollo y la he girado pero ha llegado un momento que ha parado, muy pronto según me ha parecido. Al final en oscuridad he abierto el chasis y el rollo aun tenia el final enganchado en el chasis asi que no lo ha rebobinado entero. La duda es ¿como se rebobina el final del rollo cuando se han disparado todas las fotos?
Hola Rafa, al acabar el rollo salta la rueda del chasis y se avanza hasta que notas que no hay tension del rollo. Asi es en la mia y deberia ser asi en la tuya, pero hace tiempo que no la uso. Si la uso de nuevo te digo por si acaso. Has revisado las instrucciones en Butkus?
Eso suponía yo cuando vi saltar la rueda del chasis y la gire, pero llego un momento que se paro, no daba mas vueltas (algo parecido como cuando cargas el rollo) y como no sentí que se perdiera la tensión del rollo y fueron pocas vueltas supuse que no lo había rebobinado del todo. La verdad es que fue todo poco preciso por mi parte, cuando termine el ultimo avance, no me di cuenta aun de que habia saltado la rueda del chasis y dispare el obturador y volvi a cargar el avance pensando que iria ya libre (como con la rolleiflex tlr y otras fm se termina de bobinar el rollo asi...) fue entonces al ver que no avanzaba "libre" bobinando el rollo que me fije en la otra rueda.... Efectivamente en el manual de butkus dice lo mismo que tu. Espero que para el proximo salga mejor. Gracias por la ayuda. Magnifico canal, pro cierto!!
A ver que tal en la proxima! Sino quiza le pase algo, porque las SL66 tienen un sensor de grueso de rollo para saber donde parar y tal, la verdad es que no he visto mas asi. Y quiza pueda estar "mal". Y gracias por los animos! Ahora estoy abriendo un canal en español para hacer otro tipo de contenido similar a este canal pero con otras ramificaciones que son posibles por la localizacion geografica (entrevistas, etc...).
Pues el segundo rollo ha ido bien como tenia que ir. El error era mio, creo que al avanzar despues del ultimo fotograma y disparar el obturador salta directamente a como si fueras a cargar un rollo y por tanto despues de tanto despues de un numero de vueltas se para. Eso si, al cargar el tercer rollo como he vuelto a hacer algo raro y al dar la rueda no se paraba (porque no habia dado para atras a la manivela) y ha avanzado mas alla del comienzo de l apelicual, como me he dado cuenta he tenido que abrir el chasis en el cuarto oscuro y sacar la pelicula..... Resumiendo, que estas Rolleiflex son muy finas, no se puede uno saltar los pasos porque las jodias se enteran de todo ejjeejjeje.
+Nicos Photography Show Thanks for reply, my SL66 is still on the way and your video is helpful. Some users mention SL66 can take 13 full 6X6 frame in one roll but I didn't get the point with their description. and I think it would be a benefit for me. :-)
+许志斌 Maybe if you just barely load the film on the back, but I find that to be sometimes a little dangerous because if you do gain 1 frame its good, but a hole roll you dont shoot (wrong loading) will be worst. Enjoy the SL66 when it arrives.
