Had rollers 15 year ago had to get rid coz ov work stumbled across one of ur vids looking for rocket stoves now got a double kit box and 25 birds each side got back into this great hobby thanks mate
They look great sir. Also, I spoke to you on here a a couple of months ago about Roller Pigeons and I had though and a couple of months later, I am getting some today. A week ago I decided and I have been reading my knowledge book and also what they feed on, how much to feed them, when to keep them hungry before they are liberated and what to look for...Breaks, how long they roll for and what to achieve. I am not taking part in competitions, I just want to let them out and just enjoy them my own way. Looking forward to it...And, they are an Ian Birkett Strain as well. Thanks for your videos. Not only will these great birds be my hobby, but I have some many other hobbies, Drawing, Music, dog walking. I love it. Cheers.
Thanks Sir. The Name on the RU-vid thing I got is called John as it comes under my Grandads Name but I'm called Ben and Thank you for your inspirational videos.
gosh - no snow? I heard you say the ocean - maybe that's why. I got a chuckle when I heard you say the cocks have one thing on their mind. @10:38 : ) @11:39 - how on earth can you tell by watching them in the sky above you, which birds once they land are the poor rollers? You must be extra talented. : ) @15:18 - would a plastic owl, placed on the roof of the pigeon house when they are in, scare the hawk away? Maybe put in the tree where it sits sometimes, with the pigeon coop's openings covered while the fake owl is perched? I don't know if you have decent snakes there, that would be great on a branch where he lands, too. lol I enjoyed hearing your speech, Paul McCartney's is just the same. :) Thank you Sir.
I remember 30 years ago a friend of mine was hunting feral city pigeons in a field outside of the city and when he packed up and gathered all the birds he'd shot, most of them had bands. He felt bad but ate them anyways.
Allan Carra Hi Allan, hows it going with the birds. Hard work here with the dark nights cant get the birds out flying and when i do they been in for weeks and they go a bit mental when they get out. another month will bring the lighter nights and normal service will be resumed. lol
I get my rollers soon just finishing there kit box .Going to make the trap the same as the 1 you have. Cnat wait to breed a couple then start flying them.
Was not planning breeding this year but bop doing head inn most ov my birds coming to 7 months old just starting to turn it on well happy whit cocks hens laggin a bit lol
danny watkiss nice one danny, the bop's are a damn nuisance all times of the year but very active at the moment the sparrow hawks tend to leave mine alone more when they are breeding plus they have more wild birds to target.
do you have hawks there>? I am in California and Coopers Hawks are all over my rollers. It really sucks. I can't really fly them without losing one every few days.
Joe Stubbernubbensteingenson They used to be kept for food Joe both the birds and eggs were eaten, of course they were used in wars as messenger,s now they are kept to fly in competitions and also for showing mostly. All the best.
