Saw this at unplugged and was really impressed, I think it looks like a blast. The buildings tipping over and sliding around do seem like an issue though. I was thinking double layered building tiles as a stretch goal or something could definitely help out with that issue.
I opened up my copy of Cubitos yesterday and saw a ad for Rolling Heights coming to kickstarter in 2022. With something like that in a retail came, I'm fully convinced I can pick this up at retail for much less than $80 + shipping
Genius designed this game, building phase in the beginning, then simulating earthquake to see which building stands the test. (Earthquake phase come when someone gets up from the chairand accidentally moves the table LOL 😂) I can see potential for house rules regarding earthquake. Also Godzilla version could be introduced by a cat walking on the table. 😂
My Family recently got a cat that jumps up on the table when were playing games, I can see this game, if I get it, to be a problem because of that reason. Still intrigued though.
I like the building aspect of this one, but still the rolling of the maples seems random to say the least. Not sure strategically it would benefit, but on push your luck basis it could be fun (but only with the right gaming group).
I had a duck yesterday, actually! For dinner, but still… Intrigued, looks fun. Not totally sold yet. Let’s see the campaign page and decide then. Great review, as always! 😁
part of the issue with color, navy vs. black has to do with trying to be color blind friendly, i have a color blind player in my group and they are happy with the player colors unfortunately now everyone else has a hard time so the solution to help some made the game worse overall for the majority.
I was expecting the meeples to be slightly custom, with more of a cube-like shape, so I too am surprised to see the standard Meeple. Will have to watch some gameplay before I pass judgment though. This is coming from someone who enjoys AEG and JDC games in general. Cubitos was fantastic and I trust this, too, will be great.
