Rolling in the deep, Adele - marimba duet cover 

This video launched Adele's 21 album and the two young men didn't earn a damn cent for it. Really makes one think. Keep up the good work fellas.

It never ceases to amaze me that comments on videos, everyone seems to be an expert on what ever instrument is being played. I'm not a percussionist, I play the piano & organ. I enjoyed this performance, so what if it isn't technically correct. I've been watching a young organist on here, he is probably the most politically incorrect organist I've ever seen, but his music is fantastic.

I know I should never be surprised by the negativity online, but sometimes it's like "Seriously?' Who cares how accurate the technique is...it's entertaining. They're young guys, into music...and they will get better, so why not encourage? Or give constructive tips at least. From a non-technician, I enjoyed it. And as pointed out, if you don't like it, shut it down... only someone feeling lacking in their own life would be critical like that.

What does good technique look like? Not trying to be mean at all! I just am wondering.

I think it's cool that so many people are doing so much with marimba and mallet playing in general. sure, that piece could use some fine tuning, and the guys could practice on their technique a bit more, but all-in-all, I thought it was a really good thing to attempt.

@jveezyftw Y it sucks :p (i already said that in the description) I think i only played for a very short time with 4 mallets when we recorded it.. We could record it again but since it has this many views already I don't think we'll do that.

@DonnieTheDunesMan Im not sure about what you mean but i'll try to answer it. We found a sheet on the internet which we edited a bit and used for playing it. About royalties.. we don't earn anything with this videos. And as long as we don't make money with it, we can put the video(s) online here at youtube for free (atleast there's something like this in the youtube policy)

That is a gorgeous marimba. And, is the arrangement your own or one you found online or somewhere?

Just a tip, have the guy on the lower end play with softer mallets, and aim for the middle of the keys :)

I noticed that in the beginning you weren't using your left hand and when your not using it put it down in the side next to your body keep the grip when you put it down or move the mallets around in your hand so it's or narrow for each note you need to strike

you guys are so negative. it takes a lot of patience to learn anything, anything learned makes an individual that much better. the "haters" need to probably learn a few things before criticizing. i doubt yal are half as good as naoko takada or paul smadbeck anyways. and what would be your advice on them looking "good"? like you? cause your quite invisible here..

You should try the Stevenson way to hold your mallets, that, in my opinion is the best way to hold them and the easiest for me. (:

Also your hands should be turned up so that your palm is facing the side, and your hand should be low enough that if you move it forward your pinky will graze the top of the bar.

To the bass player, you need to strengthen your inside mallet in your right hand. It's a little slow coming back up which makes your four mallet technique unbalanced. Js

Tip for brown shirt guy: work on mallet control some more, you wan't your mallets to move independently from one another. Right now your outsides wobble a lot when you're using your insides.

The four mallet needs a looot of work. Keep the unused mallets down and make sure they are not moving

This sounds good, But as you mentioned your technique needs some work. Use the piston stroke. All mallets come back up. Don't see-saw like you're doing. If you're gonna do a cover, might as well look good as well.

if your gonna hold 4 mallets PLEASE do it right i get that he has talent and hes hitting the right notes but if your gonna do this do it right!

That's not how you play single independent if you make that a habit you'll never be able to do the harder stuff. Learning 4 mallets is an extremely long and tedious venture, and if you don't make sure you have the technique down pact before you start playing you will develop some really bad habits that will keep you from being able to play advanced things. Try to start doing those without moving the other mallet and just allowing it to turn.
