You can hear in those early shows, it was Brian's musicianship shining through that made their sound. Charlie and Bill were also such a tight rhythm section, Keith had his licks down, and great rhythm guitar work. Mick's vocal timing was impeccable. They played so many shows, they were incredibly tight. I saw their two Vancouver shows, 1965 & 1966.

Those two guitars are indeed fantastic--The Rolling Stones Mach 1. Not many know that it's Brian playing the main riff on this song--he plays it very, very well.

Mercy Mercy at 3:17 is great! Brian and Keith both played cool parts, and everyone was tight on the changes and turnarounds. Wonderful to hear this!

Brian's guitar playing is absolutely impeccable, wonderful, perfect time, perfect cords .. How I wish he was alive through the 70's &.80's, hence could have met him, love him.. I was born in the 60's so I missed the british invasion didn't see it until years later!.😕

I was lucky enough to see them play at The Farm Show Arena in Harrisburg PA on their first tour. They flew in early and did a record signing at Caplan's Record Store on Market st. in downtown Harrisburg. Some local threw a punch at Brian (there are multiple legends as to whether he connected...) during the signing. Most of the people here don't recall when long haired men were profiled, and even fewer the times when they were attacked but that was America in '64. The show was fantastic but not well attended. Bobby Goldsboro was pretty good, and The Chiffons sand AND looked good. At the end of their set Mick actually asked for requests..wish I had a crystal ball and had gotten my Stones album autographed.

Brian taught Keith Richards how to play guitar in their Edith Grove apt. where the 3 of them were living in '62 - '63. They had not hit the big time yet! Brian was already very proficient on guitar after playing since his early teens.. Brian also was an excellent clarinette + piano player . His mother was a piano teacher and started teaching Brian when he was about 5 years old.

Bill Wyman makes Darryl Jones look like a neophyte. Not only is he a great bass player, he's just as creative as anyone else in the band.

Stan (The Man) Rofe from radio station 3UZ is the MC and voice over. I saw one of their shows at The Palais, St. Kilda, in Melbourne in Feb 1966, one of the afternoon shows, I think. Still have the orginal programme booklet.

No definitive set list been published for this gig. However, 19th Nervous Breakdown was their current hit single and was performed (mimed) to by the band on 20th Feb 1966. for a programme called 'Big Beat' in Australia. That show is here on RU-vid if you want to see it. Maybe that is how you remember hearing and seeing it rather than at the gig?
