Had Keith sat down in 1974 and spent time with Mick T to truly bond with him and explain how the band would never be better with another line-up, rock history would have changed significantly.
I do think Keith had a bit of jealousy about Mick Taylor. So many fans and critica were raving about how The RS's had never sounded better etc. etc 1968 -;73 were the Stones prime but Mick Ts stsr wss shiming a bit too bright for Keefs ego to accept that someone besides he and Jagger were getting attention. Ronnie Wood was easier for Keef to hide in his shadow and he did not take any attention away from anyone. Wished they wouldve replaced Mick T with someone besides RW ... I heard Rory Gallagher ! was in the queue for Mick Ts replacement but wasnt the right fit and again likely wouldve been too technically good for Keiths ego, but who knows?
Thank God for bootleg recordings. This version cranks hard. Great Taylor/Richards playing. It's the sound of real rock n roll music. It never gets old.
