34 times??? Wow!! I just saw them for the very first time on Tuesday. I'm 28. I would go back in a heartbeat. They were out of this world, even in their 70s.
I was managing a Strawberries Records and Tapes at the time this record came out. I was crazy excited to have the Stones back on the shelves with new material. And it was really good stuff to close out the decade. Good times.
Man this is like watching throw the keyhole of Santa Claus Mansion, while he gets ready, making new presents to send it into the world. Priceless🔝🎙🎙🎸🎸🎸✍👌
I really love this song!! Rhythm, melody & lyrics are great 😄 The bit starting from about 1.20 speaks more than so many thousands of words ! Keith & Mick's relationship is right there !
Great videos! Beautiful memories, I'm blessed to have had the opportunity to record my first piano demo at Air Montserrat in 1987. Rupert was there.... Miss you Montserrat!
Love hearing the raw ingredients of songs. As a home hack musician, I start making songs with one little riff. Then add this, then that....it takes quite a while to build up a whole song. And it usually sounds way different than it did in the beginning. And it's interesting to see the Stones develop a song AFTER you hear the finished work.
Plant the seed. Nurture it. Water. Food. Keep at it. I like to strum an idea on my acoustic......hours upon hours.......marinate.......and let it lead me rather than trying to force it.......feel it........spontaneity......just go with it.......root note........magical .
That is such a profound statement that you can clearly see in this short. There are several songs on RU-vid & elsewhere that exhibit this process such as 'START ME UP' an iconic rocker that started out as a Reggae song.
I've been looking for this clip, I remember it from years ago. It's great where they are writing it and Keef says 'we need another chord in there'... very funny.
Creative crisis by setting deadlines, goals and setting positive intentions always works better. Enjoyed the short interview clips with the practice sessions. Very nice.
RIP AIR Studios Montserrat. It's amazing how many hits were recorded at that studio and what became of it. If you don't know the story, look it up and prepare to be blown away...
The video for "Every Little Thing" by the Police was shot in the studio and in and around Montserrat. It's not a great view of the studio, but a decent quick peak at the control room.
+Joe Turner Would like to go there, been nearby at St. Kitts but never there. Buffet recorded there, think that's what the Volcano song is about. They're trying to get tourism back, but like half the island is exclusionary zone or something, and nobody can go to that part.
I flew over it once. Our pilot took us over the studio but with all of the over growth, the only thing easily visible was the pool. It's sad to see the lava flow and how it has devoured the city. Hoping that someday someone does a documentary on the studio.
The last band to record at Air Studios before Hurricane Hugo hit my beautiful island. Great gig to have worked on. Yvonne Kelly, MD Air Sudios Montserrat.
On the inside of the sleeve of Exile on Main Street, there's a picture of Keith and Mick together in the vocal booth from the Mussel Shoals recording sessions, likely from the Robert Frank photos of the recording of Brown Sugar.Keith is holding a half empty bottle of hard liquor and Mick is clutching an oversized can of something. It's kind of how I imagined they got their twisted harmony in the early days.
Triunfaron como la mejor banda de la historia del Rock y hoy se los venera.La sonrisa de Kehit es sin duda la sonrisa de un guerrero que triunfo luchando contra todo
wow this takes me back to 89 90 ,as a kid my dad would play this album ,having a bbq family n friends all drinking n wot not ,,,,,happy days ,,was a hot summer 89 i think ,,great tune ,,last good stones album to be fair
@@AllanEvansOfficial yeah bridges was good .but I sopose I meant to say the last album that meant something to me say .all is cool tho take care in this climate of bands these days .the stones didn't do a bad album in my eyes
This just proves it.., FUCK looks, FUCK "image", FUCK incredible musical chops, etc.., if you have great SONGS, then it all comes together and you've got yourself a great Rock band
That line was made up by Sam Cutler, tour manager on the 1969 " comeback" tour. It was to encourage audience excitement( listen to " GET YER YA YA S OUT").
These guys are the same age as me then as I am now, and I remember thinking back then when I was 17 in 89 those guys are old but really fucking awesome 12+5, out of our heads, Decembers children, exile on main, goats head, but when I got into the stones, like just discovering Beggers bouquet they just released tattoo you...perfect timing slave yes I was. Every payday I would go down to the supermarket? get something to eat, then go to the record store and buy a rolling stone album..then pass by the liquor store steal something of the shelve be back home by quarter to twelve....do it, do it, do it dooo it...lol
most underrated Stones album of all time "Steel Wheels" Saw the tour 1989 Georgia Tech football stadium downtown Atlanta also checkout Video of same tour might be the best you will ever see "Paint it Black" best live version 🎹🎶😎
the AIR studio was located on Montserrat close to Antigua. George Martin record producer nicknamed the Fifth Beatle owned it , with the devastation of Hurricane Hugo in 1989 and a series of volcano eruptions in the Nineties sadly this legendary recording studio is now no longer only the ruins remain , the studio was leased out to a who's who of 1970/80s music royalty, including The Police, Elton John, , Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, Dire Straits, Phil Collins, Black Sabbath, Lou Reed, Eric Clapton and Duran Duran. definitely a huge part of rock history some amazing albums were cut between those hallowed walls ,,,
Funny a friend of mine considered the Steel Wheels tour the last time the Stones would ever play again. He also said that all the way to Vegas on the Grrr tour 😜❗
@The SNES Man That was quite some time ago but, as both you and I and everyone else are watching this video on RU-vid on command, MTV was useless as a music video broadcaster, so they moved on.
