On Wednesday, I had the honor of meeting Travis from S&B Rolloff. A huge thank you for sharing the struggle that rolloff operators experience with overstuffed OCC compactors. Travis is a great guy and super cool. Stay safe out there, brother!

I’m surprised that the mills don’t have a small machine on standby by for scrape outs. There are some facilities that do it.

Glad you met a fellow rolloff hoist driver & showing the struggles of them dumping!!! Interesting break away compactor design though!!! Was this at a recycling plant? Cauz it looked like all cardboard!! That tractor trailer passing through look like it was about to pick up cardboard bales headed for final MRF processing!! Also interesting to see are those big plastic front loader cans you were collecting from!! Cardboard Recycling right?

@bitterman112 thanks brother. This was at Pratt's paper mill in Conyers. Bales come in daily by train and tractor trailers here in addition to loose OCC. With my truck, I collect MSW.

I had my fare share dumping compactors packed to the max. Trash is bad but I believe cardboard is tough to get out

Knowing my job we throw a lot in the compactor gaylords, wooden pallets, furniture, clothes, trash, wares, books , shoes sometimes and other random stuff that comes through goodwill but clothes and some cardboard gets baled.

@CoolHandMacc I am temporarily out of it right now. Back in construction atm. I will have to start again from scratch when I can re acquire a pickup truck. I'm also wanting to offer demolition services as well. I have a decade of construction labor experience and may start a mini demolition/excavation company later on.

@Houstonfilmerrefuse technically one. I work with Pratt on the weekdays and run my truck on Saturdays for now. Once things slowed down for me, when my truck was having issues, I took a job with them to keep money coming in.
