That's why you never try and push through those wheel hops on a steep climb I guess. So many roll over vids start exactly the same way. Easy to say here sitting on my couch though!
Mate you're spot on. We even spoke about it before anyone went up. This particular hill has a bit of a rule where if it starts to hop, get off the gas and stall out.
If he managed to climb the hill, he would be a hero. Because he failed he is considered an idiot... could he have done things differentely? Maybe... but it all happens so fast. I understand the rush of wanting to conquer a steep hill. It may seem stupid, but that is what separates the boys from the men! That guy is bad ass! Just hope he didn't get harmed!
The first role over is always tough mate but ya pick up dust of and learn with a smile. ... good crack at it. Next time mate hope you all ok🤙its just the pride and joy that hits home. Nothing a few cable ties and tape couldn't fix😜
Sometimes life teaches us lessons the hard way, he’ll never forget what he learned from this and he’ll be better because of it. Gotta just learn and move on as long as he’s able to walk away then it’s a good day.
Hmmm, after watching a few slow rollovers, it seems a safety device could be built to prevent them. Something like a sharpened high pressure ram, that deploys on the leaning side into the ground at an angle. Not sure if it would help or not but if you could arrest the lateral movement at the tipping point, you'd probably be in a much better situation.
I feel like if he turned his wheels to the right his front end wouldnt have ended laterally and would have rolled back easier, seen a few roll overs and some of them happen because their wheels are turned in a way that allows the front of the car to swing out and roll over
Ce sont hélas des choses qui arrivent quand on s'amusent avec nos 4x4. Les amortisseurs DURS à double effets auraient peut-être évité l'accident mais rien n'est sûr. Merci du partage
depends on your insurance, my insurance does cover it. standard road insurance most likely wont. some insurers like NRMA will cover you if it is a "gazetted track" just because it is legal does not mean it is gazetted. also if your car is not legal ie (depending on state) more than 2 inch lift, more than 2 inch tyre size increase etc it will void the warranty. if you can get your vehicle home and lie about where it happened you might get a payout. I know a bloke who drove his bt-50 into a flooded river while pissed (idiot) and managed to get a pay out.
All they had to do was pop the roof back out and polish up the flares. Good as new but that's what you'd expect with the legendary Mitsubishi build quality
@@LittleWayNotSoCool I honest would of thought a squashed roof would of been a write off, but good stuff no one was a hurt & the vehicle was repairable!
And that's why you should have a spotter and not go hard on the skinny pedal, especially when the truck is giving you obvious signs of a forthcoming rollover..to much money to buy a 4wd and not enough talent to drive it..😀
