Amazing looking ,nice finished exceptionally well presented in the end of job great work mate and may anybody who’s also able to spot good definitely worth using these people just a shame that I am in the 🇬🇧
I think you have done a great job based on the clients requirements. Yes I think the leather is too soft and creases a little.I speak as the owner of two Crewe cars from the nineties both in black leather. My 93 Continental R probably has the nicest thick black leather that I have ever seen. It has no grain, is brick hard and is absolutely superb. Doors and head lining the same It has has a subtle shine. End of an era. My 98 Azure has a grained leather that is nowhere near as good.I spoke to a Connolly representative that informed me they are bringing the old styles back. That vinyl is called Everflex and was an expensive option. Sadly the cars are not so desirable at this point in time in the UK. Great value. There's a beautiful Corniche DHC for sale n the UK at present black with black leather, red piping but well pricy. Pretty cool. Seen some Turbo R's and Continentals like that also. Love em!
Respectfully...... you put in so much work, why wouldn't you use a more suitable leather. The Italian leather you used is too "thin". This is why you have poor puckering at the pleated verticals in the seat centres and where it meets the piping at the edge of the seat. The original Connolly hide leather used by Rolls-Royce is now available by a "substitute company" to provide the correct look when sewn. Incidentally, you have the rear armrests on backwards. I know you most likely followed the customer's request, but the suede headlining is god awful and completely detracts from the car. Dash work and console is very well done, but, once again, would have been "perfect" if you had used the correct leather. Feel free to call and discuss.
Rodd Sala you are spot on, the wrong style of leather was used. Connolly hide is thicker and would give it the correct look for a Rolls of this era. While the leather you used may have been good quality..... it's too thin and poorly gathered in places. It's clearly visible where the seats and arm rests curve which really detracts. It's a shame as you obviously went to a lot of trouble. I also agree the suede headliner isn't really suited to a Rolls of this era....
Beautiful job! I like the black much better than the horrible off-white color from the factory. I would have retained the red piping on new the black leather, had it been my car. One of my all time favorite cars.
What an odd commentary. It sounds as though the script was written by someone with English as a second language although the narration is by a native speaker. Is it a robot?
And it's no where near rolls royce quality. Leather for rolls comes from Switzerland 🇨🇭 and its from bulls that have lived outside without wire fences to damage skin You can tell the leather not the same quality
Truly awful standard of workmanship. Unfortunately few people are prepared to pay the price a proper trim shop needs to do the job properly. Yet another great car destroyed.
