I had Rotator Cuff surgery in September. Still doing PT, although should be wrapping that up in a few sessions. Thankfully it is much stronger now, but not 100% yet. I feel for you, can't imagine going through another and the bicep on top of that. That stinks.
I think my last one was 3 years ago now? I'm still doing home P/T on both shoulders. They gave me some equipment and brochures to take home after 6 months of in-person P/T and said because of my age, I would likely need to continue home P/T forever. Lifting above the shoulders is nearly impossible for me now.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy that stinks. I'm pushing 49 now so not too old I guess. They are happy with my progress. Having neck issues which is not fun, but I'm able to do most of what I need to with my shoulder now. Just spent the past week weeding, cutting down a tree and digging up the stump, digging up two bushes and hand shoveling and spreading 10 yards of mulch, so it's doing as well as I could have hoped for at this point, but it was definitely rough for a while.
OMG! I just ordered my Roly and watching you I remembered I have herniated disc and osteoarthritis in both hips🤦🏻i will have to call a friend that can lift mine🤪
Awwww I wish I would have known they were going to drop this. I just bought the MK2 and would have totally bought this. Still hope they come out with a more powerful laser module. I absolutely LOVE my MK2. Without a doubt the best diode laser I have ever owned. Just seems with the competition at 70w and Roly still talking about 40W in Q4-24/Q1-25 they are lagging a bit. Fingers crossed I can pickup a 40W or better soon. My machine feels like a beast waiting to show off its speed capabilities but the laser is just too low power to really show off the machine’s capabilities. That new XW is sexy and I am certainly lusting over that!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I haven’t had a chance to put my hands on any 70W. I love my Roly and you can’t pry it from my cold dead hands. With that said I still want more speed Captain. I feel as if the Roly machine would easily handle twice the speed plus what I am currently running it at to get the depths I am after. 300 mm/m to cut 3mm Baltic Birch is hurts.
Roly said they do not have plans for a 40W for the MK2. The MK3 will have a 40W, auto focus and some other upgrades. That is slated for Q1 2025 most likely.
Great video! My old laser finally died - it was a home built using the endurance laser. I'm looking at all built and just pull out of the box type laser. I have read rumors of 40w with a auto conveyor. So, im waiting to see, but want to get one to design new projects for a new business I'm planning.
Can’t wait for mine to get here in June!! This is my first engraver I passed up on the original mk2 and preordered the xw I hope I made the right choice 😆
I'm leaning towards the 20W due to the smaller focal spot for detailed engraving. Do you think I should go with the 30W. I'm planning mostly doing custom wood work engraving and will venture into mugs. I'm also considering this for cutting templates for some wood projects I have. I just don't have any experience on how much the difference in focal size makes. This will be my first laser. Love your channel and subscribed immediately when I saw the "guns out when the lasers out" tank :)
Now I dont know what I should save for, Roly Mark2 or the XW. Really I want them both, but my bank acount says no..lol...I am in the process of upgrading one of my Ortur to a bigger lasers module. But still wanting the lasermatic.
Love your content and how well you explain everything. I’m looking to purchase this laser within the next week and was wondering what the footprint is so I can set up the work area that will be centered around this machine.
The outer measurements on the XW are 30 1/2" wide and 24 1/4" deep, however the legs are inset, so it fits perfectly on my 24" deep table with room to spare. ➡️ rolyautomation.com/lnJ4A7
I wonder if Roly will ever make standard the side fan kit? They could make the left side vent panel stock on the machine with the back port blocked with the cover plate. This way the purchaser can choose where they want the vent to be. This way you don’t have to order more and the chase tunnel and wire extension will come pre installed. Just seems like the right thing todo as a way to ensure everyone gets a good experience.
I doubt it, too much R&D going on for new features. But when someone asked for it, they designed in days. No other company has support like Roly Automation.
@@crowguy506 The favor only means no loose parts for shipping purposes. If they design it in on the left and block the back port with the cover they already have everything comes with the unit assembled. This reduces their cost of redeveloping a ton of packaging. Also you mention the neutral position, do you own one? These are large machines and adding 6”-8” out back isn’t a real desirable option, at least for me.
If you ask for it, they'll probably make it, just like they did for the regular Mk2. It appears the XW is the same depth as the standard machine, so the one they have now will likely work on it. All else fails, you can take a 4" hole saw to the side panel and use the cut out to fill the rear hole. Look, this is the highest precision, best quality diode laser on the market, at the best price. You can't please 100% of the people. Someone will always want some different feature, but it doesn't work that way.
Three weeks Tim, but I was in pre-order for batch one. The ship date is on the order page. Batch one, two and three are all sold out on the 30W. These are in high demand and always on back order, so there's never any "available today". As of right now, the XW 30W is unavailable until new modules are ready, and the XW 20W ships 6/13 to the 19th. I expect those will be sold out as well before long.
It's safer to box the sensitive electronics separately Karl. They could package them all in the Styrofoam like everyone else, but they care about it all arriving safely.
