The Italian version of "le duel" could have so easily been one of my favourite songs of the musical, since Luca and Gianluca are really two amazingly talented artists....nevertheless, at my ears, these lyrics really have too many of those "meaningless" passages I mentioned more than once in my previous videos concerning the Italian version of Roméo et Juliette...
And about the second part of the video (la mort de Mercutio), well....it was really painful to make it, since every time I see Mercutio's agony, I die with him. Every. Single. Time. Well, without being this tragic, let's say that every time I check these subs, I have countless handy tissues...
One last thing. For the lyrics, I used those I found on a website (without them, I wouldn't have understood half of "le duel"...). Yet, in some passages I'm not really sure they're right. So there might be a few mistakes in the subtitles (two or three, not more, guess..).

In my opinion, Luca is the most angelic and the sexiest Mercuzio. He is fragile, dramatic and slightly hysterical at the same time, and I'm just beyond amazed by his beautiful, high-pitched, somewhat feminine voice! The way he starts the duel with some flirting is pure GOLD! I'm out of breath when he sings "You're going to taste my sword, you'll enjoy it, you'll see". This is GENIOUS! When Tebaldo begins to provoke him, Mercuzio's face expression is brilliant! :D "Oh come boy, come at me!", his face literally says that. I adore him! I also really like Gianluca's Tebaldo, he is kind of chilled at the beginning but full of fire at the end. I think he created a very special and mysterious Tebaldo. Mercuzio's farewell is so heartbreaking and powerful, and I'm so happy that the italian version was brave enough to play with the idea that Mercuzio is in love with Romeo. Unlike in the other versions, he doesn't mention Giulietta during his farewell, and I think it's because he wanted Romeo only for himself in his last moments. Luca's performance is outstanding for me, and I'm grateful for the experience he provides.

@@x_n_x_gal9161Fr! Romeo and Julia musical is in general so queer (and I adore it). Just watch the Japanese version where Mercucio literally kisses Death, or Hungarian version where Mercucio is... well... Mercucio (like Hungarian version is just sooo🥵)

Wow, this Death of Mercutio is the first one that's ever made me cry. And the way Benvolio sinks to his knees, and everyone gets still as he jokes... wow

Dude I literally love this version and the Hungarian version when it comes to Le Duel. The Mercutio and Tybalt on both of these really made me have goosebumps, especially Mercutio; best character, fite me!! Also I was stunned when I heard Romeo scream Mercutio because it gives me war flashbacks to Benvolio screaming his name in the original musical.

Yesss, agree, these two are the best. I am Hungarian and I just wish Zoli and Attila would have kissed in our version, lol. But fun fact, Zoli who played Mercutio in the Hungarian version was actually married to Dóra, the actress who played Juliet.

In the french 2010 version Mercutio literally say that he had sex with a men older than him and he looked like he like boys too so I don't get why they didn't do like in the italian version where mercutio kiss Romeo

@@michellecramer5816 before the song ''La folie'' mercutio says to Tybalt '' as tu déja fait l'amour avec un homme plus vieux que toi '' wich translates to have you ever made love with a man older then you. Also I read the play once in highschool and Mercutio was portrayed as bisexual

In French it's also undertone that he loves Romeo (in a single way). In Mort de Mercutio he says "Oh Romeo, Oh MON Roméo" (Oh Romeo, oh MY Romeo) and "Je meurs dans TES bras" (I die I YOUR arm)

I love that after the duel the fact that Mercuzio was stabbed to death is shown with him falling and getting up again, like in between life and death

Merci d'avoir traduit ! Même des années plus tard, c'est toujours aussi difficile de regarder Mercutio mourir (dans n'importe quelle langue aussi d'ailleurs...) Cela a déjà été dit dans les autres commentaires, mais celui qui joue Mercutio a un voix bien particulière (il va souvent dans les aigus xD) sinon, j'adore ses cheveux ! lol

Thanks so much for doing this! You're right, the part of Mercuzio's death is a bit hard to watch, Luca's performance is a tad eccentric, but brilliant. I love this two songs.

sakuramikichan Not a problem, I enjoyed it (despite Mercutio's death tormenting me....)! ^-^ I think that maybe Luca exaggerates a little here and there, but I agree that he really performed amazingly.

Ok, Mercutio is really cute in this and Romeo is just precious, but the guy at 1:59. I don’t know what he does to me. 😹 it’s the way he’s looking up I guess but he’s so intense. Love it.

It’s Tiwuani. I’ve subscribed to him on Instagram recently. He is the best in parkour! In Italian R&J he has a great scene before Tybalt’s ‘C’est le jour’ (don’t know in Italian)). But I like his role of Wolf in ‘La legende du Roi Arthur’ the most

@@ira_kudri4970 omg. I just looked up oggi o Mai and he is so good! Love his dancing skills. I’m trying to figure out what his character is supposed to me though. He would make an interesting death character seeing as how hateful and malicious his character is. Typically I would see death as just simply death, taking whoever, almost teasing them but in Romeo and Juliet, seeing as people died out of hate, it could make sense. He mostly seems like he’s just the anger that’s built up in tybalt personified.

I'm pretty sure it's based off the 2010 French version but there are some differences one being that in the French version mercutio push Romeo away when tybalt goes to stab him but even with that small difference it's a really good musical and I wish I could find the full translated version

+Azure Kate Unfortunately, on yt you can only find the first act, not the second :( You can find the first act by typing "romeo e giulietta ama e cambia il mondo", it should be one of the first videos listed.

J'ai été intrigué en lisant les commentaires sur la version française de 2001 de la comédie Roméo et Juliette par rapport à cette scène et je suis très déstabilisée, surement dû au changement de langue, je suis pas très convaincue par l'acting, peut-être est-ce une façon différente de jouer qu'en France par exemple ou tout simplement parce que je ne suis pas habituée à entendre de l'italien, je ne sais pas mais en tout cas cela m'a perturbé...

Luca ha reso Mercuzio memorabile ma...ragazzi...ecco, sapete,Tebaldo...❤ Per me entrambi non possono essere eguagliati, in nessuna versione del musical di qualsiasi altra nazione. Conosco entrambi,Luca e Gianluca perché ho studiato e spero di continuare a studiare con loro (canto e recitazione) e sono anche due persone meravigliose!
