Who printed it and has it held up

Could you please tell me where you purchased it at I am trying to find a copy of it and cannot find one anywhere

@@RMB1208 I ended up getting one too. I feel some pages have a printing that is very light, and I am wondering if I should try to exchange it. Does your copy have any issue like this? It is pretty much still legible but I am wondering if this is to be expected. I still find it to be the best Missal. I love everything else about it.

Thank you for the positive feedback. I am happy that you like the Fr. Lasance missal. I would caution you to find out what Mass your Priest is offering as there are a number of sizable differences between the Pre-1955 missal (Fr. Lasance) and the 1962 missal (Angelus Press). I don't want you to get a missal that will cause frustration. If I was going to an SSPX Mass, I would purchase the Angelus Press 1962.

@@RMB1208 I didn't think of that. Would you know about the FSSP? That's the Mass I attend. I just checked, and they do sell the Fr. Lasance Missal, along with a few others on the FSSP website, so I'm guessing it's ok, but tomorrow is Sunday- I'll ask at Mass.

I think they removed the link on the Cincinnati diocese website as I can no longer find the article and the link I have is now broken. @@RMB1208 Hmm, interesting that they’d remove it. I thought that was the case. And I did read that article that you just shared with me already, but thank you. I have been growing in such a connection to him. I just got back from visiting the parish he grew up in. I drive to Cincy often now. Thank you.

@@liscampbell3 I think they did a website redesign so it may have been unintentional and may be restored at some point. I too, have a very strong connection (through gratitude) to Fr. Lasance. Not a silly question. Unfortunately, you would not have any success in using this missal for the Novus Ordo: they are completely different. The Sunday Novus Ordo has 3 readings (that were put together in 1969) as opposed to 2 (which were put together - for the most part in the 6th century), the calendar was completely revised with some exceptions and the Canon is almost universally ignored at the Novus Ordo.

I agree with your observation about the gold on the pages, although, I do find on this newer version that the gold is a little more resilient. I did want to make a distinction for anyone reading the comments who may not be as well informed as you are regarding your comment about pre-1955 Holy Week. I am not entirely sure if the publisher of this missal is sedevacantist; but, it is worth noting that a fair number of indult groups have returned to the pre-1955 missal. This is noteworthy (and I think the reason you pointed this out is) because if you try to use the Fr. Lasance Missal during Holy Week where they use the 1962 missal, it will be very difficult to follow. Thanks for watching.

@@RMB1208 I have no first-hand knowledge, but I have heard that a year or two ago the FSSP was given permission to use the 1955 Holy Week but had to include the 2008 Prayer for the Descendants of Jacob AND the "flectamus genua."

Edition is probably the wrong word (that I used) to describe the missal. There is only one edition and it is a reprint of the original. They recently did a new production run of the missal that made some physical improvements to the publication. I outline those changes in the video. The text is exactly the same, though. Does that help/make sense?

I just received my father lessons missile from Latin Mass helper. I ordered it online and it came in 5 days with a handwritten thank you on the back of a beautiful holy card

You would be if the only Mass you know is in the vernacular as a result of Vatican II. This Missal is for the Traditional Latin Mass, the Mass offered worldwide IN LATIN for centuries prior to the mid-1960s following the "reforms" of Vatican II.

@@manfredcaranci6234 I have that Missal....I use it, sometimes, I just get so confused on how to use it. I usually just use the red book at mass, that they offer before Mass.

How sad that you disposed of this nice piece of work that is used and enjoyed by the masses! You could have left it in a Catholic church with a note to anyone who could take it and enjoy it to the fullest!
