It's so much easier on the eyes than the Warhammer clusterfuck

Easy to manage, easy on the eye, if you knew what you were doing you didn't have to power through 2/3 of a campaingn just because "I... have... to.... officially..... WIN", like nowdays. You steamroll everything and it still takes ages just due to map size and distance between "objectives". That evolves from fun to choir rather quickly- for my taste. Maybe that's why ;)

I think it's legit- the date is 455AD, almost 200 turns in. If we assume the Romano-British spawned in at turn 50, and that he was losing only $4K instead of $8K per turn, that's almost negative $600K. Seems plausible enough.

@@lewisyeadon4046debt can exponentially increase if you’re just passing turn with huge armies while in debt, or losing more cities after already being in massive debt. Typically in RTW you have +20k income and -20k expenses extremely early just due to the way the numbers work out, and you can imagine how you could get crazy debt like that.

This is coming from a guy who supports Brexit but I doubt that anyone can say it is going well. Yeah, there's console commands to let you switch factions. I think the faction you leave behind can end up with broken campaign AI though, if I remember right. You can always switch back I guess. Kind of like a hotseat campaign with one player.

@@Ironwizard42 The broken AI thing is only if you do it by cheats. Using a save editor it shouldn't happen. At least that's my experience in other games, not necessarily R:TW.

Also pretty sure if the saves are txt files they will have "current faction: Julii" or "player faction:" etc etc, easy editing. If saves aren't that way then it might require editing software.

Think it is in the remaster. You select the faction and it cycles end turns till the WRE is out of Britain and spawns in the Romano-British and off you go

The RB are emergent once WRE loses a British region usually due to public order. It’s likely he never intended to stay in Britain in the first place. He probably captured eastern France for ports and moved east maybe he didn’t anticipate slav hordes as he probably made a beeline to the Levant.

If on steam, go into launch preferences and set "-ne -nm" without the apostrophes and turn off in game antialiasing. You can turn it on in the nvidia control panel tho

There's also an option in the nvidia control panel to enable threaded optimisation, that should help

@Crazy Frog Well, exactly. The barbarians are gone, Rome is an impotent threat, not even the Sassanids are challenging, with these Huge Walls in Jerusalem and Sidon. By the way, he controls some of the richest provinces in the game from the very beginning. This campaign has already been won, as someone mentioned below, and then ruined on purpose. Not a disaster campaign, as I said. The debt is not an issue, given the listed circumstances.
