Saving Your Disaster Campaigns - RTW - Julii Refugee's Want To Go Home 

*Hey Guys, Rome Total War has become exceedingly painful to record lately. You'll notice the beginning has some skipped audio. It should hopefully only be at the start during the intro and it wasn't that important. I'm trying to find work arounds to stop this from happening but both of my recording softwares hate recording Rome Total War and crashes all the time. I'll try find a fix in future*

I like how the units do a better job of keeping their lines formed and all that rather than blobbing up like they do in more recent Total Wars...

Watching this video made me realize how much I missed watching you playing Rome Total War. Such a great game, such great memories...

Say what you will about Rome: Total War, but the music is so great and atmospheric. Probably the best in the series (although Medieval II is very close).

Great to see a Rome Total War saving your disaster campaign. I watched this all the way to the end. Watching those Roman cavalry unleash destruction on the Gauls was very satisfying. "They are not soldiers! Only frightened rabbits, running from our men!"

Fighting on very hard can be a hell of a shock when you're used to medium or hard. One helluva save on your part.

I have to ask, why don't you use ctrl+c to select all cav, ctrl+m to select all missile, ctrl+i to select infantry, and ctrl+a to select all?

I must have well over 1000 hours in this game but I didn’t know could you transfer the retinues like that. Learn something new everyday lol

What's surprising is that the Gauls did so well. Usually the British steamroll them in the first 30 turns or so

ah, the two gold chevron Peasants. I remember fighting them when playing as the Greek Cities against Pontus. In the field they would win. In asettlemtn though, I shot over the walls

1:00:51 Put your field army on the bridge, cut off the Gaulic army from Patavium. Meanwhile siege Patavium with one or so obsolete units. End turn, Gauls attack you at the bridge, total eradication. The Gauls throw off you siege at Patavium, put it on again. They pursue, crush them with your hyper-mobile cavalry field army and return to the bridge to await the Gauls suiciding themselves all over again.

Thanks for doing RTW disasters. I still find myself coming back to this game time and time again and it is good to see how to handle these scenarios.

Won't lie, first time I played RTW, I got into this exact situation. I quit, didn't play for a few months, did a Brutii campaign, obsessed with TW since!

The peasants outdid the warband... that just goes to say just how crappy the warbands are if the peasant do better than them.

Wow Carthage is surviving? I've played more RTW games then I can count and they *never survive* long.

It's has been so long since I last played the game that I totally forgot how easy it is to defeat the AI and exploit the various game mechanics.

Legend it is wonderful to see posting RTW and MW2TW content recently - I love to watch your pre-recorded videos on these games and Shogun 2 - I know that you need to stream and make Warhammer content and if that is good for you and your channel go for it. I will just have to keep an eye out for your content that I like the best and learn to appreciate it when it does appear. One small issue though - did I miss you saying "Horse sandwich ……" in this episode? If so how was that possible with a cav spam? ps SYDC with huge debt or not are fine I will watch Rome, Rome 2 - maybe Attilla, Med War 2, Shogun 2 and DLCs and mods of the same. Cheers.

Hello Legend! Have you tried your luck at the Battle Tournaments of RTW Alexander? I think thats the most challenging experience that the original RTW/M2TW can get you, although the Alexander campaign is very challenging by itself

Just a quick question. Why don't you use the wedge formation? Is it because it leads to more casulties of your own or because the it's a smaller point of impact when clashing with the enemies?

Try using dxgl to run the game, than record the dxgl output stream with OBS. That helps recording (old) games (i used that technique for settlers 4 in the past when the history edition wasnt there yet). ... ohg. that music though. ive missed this game. so gud
