Ah but God IS speaking through him. Because he's directly preaching the scriptures which are inspired by God. Unlike many preachers, he has dedicatedly studied these scriptures, prayed about them, read the surrounding texts and researched the context it was written in so it's not isolated and wrongly twisted, researched church fathers and past scholars, and even studied some of the original Greek words and how they were used. And who knows, depending on how his church works, he might even have church elders vet his sermon and interpretations before approving. And unlike many pastors, he goes through the effort of making these chapter by chapter sermon series on certain books rather than picking themes and topics they wanna speak on and look for verses that support that.

@@tobbyman3d You are absolutely right. He puts in a lot of preparation in prayer, and study to be able to preach God's Word so effectively. Expository preaching should be the norm and if people read their Bibles

I try to read the room if I visit someone’s church. I do love to lift my hands to the Lord and praise the Lord during song and worship. Not all churches do that. I have to be in a church where that’s the form of worship. I went to church with my Mother in Law for Mother’s Day this past Sunday. I know they don’t worship like that. I told my husband I hope I don’t get caught up in the Spirit and do that. But there was one song. One I’ve never heard that didn’t even make sense to me. Lol And the person leading sang in Monotone throughout the whole song and even though the words were on the screen, I don’t think the church had ever heard it either. Lol So no worries, I didn’t do anything distracting. 😂 But even though I don’t worship like that lady did, maybe at home some times, if I did, I think I would also have to find another church that did. With no hard feelings of course. But it feels like a hindering not being able to freely worship in a way you’re used to. I don’t mind if I’m visiting with someone on a special occasion like I did the other day, but that could never be my home church.

10:42 Some people would even go in convuluted paths to come to a conclusion that smoking is a sin in itself (Although, I don't want anyone to smoke. It's rarely not abused.). Some people would say you're smoking to get a certain feeling. If you wanna get a certain feeling, can't you spend time with God and let the Holy Spirit make you high? Thus, anything you do to replace the Holy Spirit or God is a sin. They even use the same logic for alchohol, saying that drinking any amount of alchohol is a sin.

Your example of the worshipper?? So you can only worship in one format. I would probably have left too. You are right a conservative worship environment where one is sedate and quiet would not be for me either. I didn't really think people actually told folk that they can't praise God in descency...WOW! Any way thank you for being an excellent teacher!

I can't say the worshipper in the example reaction was wrong. She probably left to go to a church where people worship like her. Why should she stay where others does not accept her way of worship and she can unite with believers who will make a joyful noise with her and not stifle her expression to God. The teaching is good though.

Great lessons to learn. However, in our decisions or opinions about 'Doubtful Things' we should be careful so that we do not allow cultural differences to cause us to discriminate unknowingly. In the Western cultures for instance, it's normal for people dress in certain ways that are not acceptable in many other cultures in the Church or elsewhere but people from those culture learn to look beyond it, and live with it. Dancing or what I may call "dancing heartily" is part of some people way of expressing their joy or appreciation. This is obvious in their daily living. If this person mentioned in this sermon belongs to a culture such as this, he/she will definitely feel excluded. The clause 'to do something being mindful of your neighbour' is impossible to define, and hurting people unknowingly can be one of its many results.
