Chalfield Manor House was built around 1465 and restored in 1905. It remains as a picturesque medieval country house from the 1470s. The garden, designed between 1905 and 1912 by Alfred Parsons RA, PRWS, is influenced by the art and crafts movement. The garden and the house are surrounded by a moat, feed by a natural spring.
Throughout the garden, you can find an array of colourful hedges, and there is a peculiar, eye-catching topiary pavilion shaped like a house.
At the bottom of the garden, in the orchard, wildflowers are planted, creating a tranquil and romantic atmosphere throughout the entire garden. It is a small but comfortable and relaxing place.
