Hey, Beastie! Quick question... thinking about getting a pair of the 23 Vice --- but, I also have a pair of the Bataleon Blaster asym wrap bindings (24) --- I know that Bataleon and Rome share the same baseplates / same deal with that cool ankle strap positioning adjustment / and / (question would be) ....is the 23 Vice just toooo similar to my Blaster asym wraps? It almost seems like they're suppppper-close cousins (ha) if you get my drift
I can't really answer this because I didn't ride any Bataleon bindings. They look similar and seem to have very similar tech but you don't know till you go. Sometimes things that look similar can be far from the same. Sorry!
I couldn't agree more with your interpretation of katana, and I've been very interested in learning about cleaver and ReneG lately, and wondered if you'd do a review. I'd love to see it.
Many thanks! Renegade review coming and cleaver is up. Only difference is the straps are the same as the 2024 Katana review. thegoodride.com/snowboard-binding-reviews/rome-cleaver-2022-snowboard-binding-review/
I wasn’t a huge fan of the aux tech straps from Rome. The stretchy feeling of them was hard to get used to. I changed them out with the new bataleon infinity straps and I would say they are a great upgrade from Romes.
Thanks, as always, for the great review. Has Rome fixed the cracking issues with the Cleaver and their other carbon infused bindings? I specifically got my kids dod’s, and didn’t purchase cleavers for myself, so we wouldn’t have that potential problem.
Many thanks! Sorry but not sure. That's more of a Rome warranty question and I haven't heard any complaints from my readers about cracking. Did you get Katanas?
They both look similar but I haven't tried the Bataleons but you don't know till you go. Hard to talk subtle differences of how they feel on snow. I did like the DOD and the new ankle strap is super comfortable. It's almost pressure point free.
@@thegoodridesnow That’s good to know. I’ve heard good things about the Bataleon straps but the high back and slow speed maneuverability of the dod’s seem superior.
