Here is one of my all time favorite 1930's Records, by the fantastic Abe Lyman's California Orchestra, (In my mind, this is one of those late in the summer evening complete with soft Angelus bell as the stars are just about to peep out songs!) Very Atmospheric and beautifully played, From the 1933 movie "Roman Scandals" 1933!! This is one that I had a tad of issues with! The record itself could not be in better condition near mint! But the Brunswick studio at times used a cutter that had a bit of motor humm, this one was wild with it, I had to High Pass Filter it twice! and the ending comes off as being a tad abrupt, But it is clean enough for Me to post quickly, As glitch removal at present takes up to 10 seconds each on my very very slow computer! So I have quite a bit to post that I am working on, so bare with me! I hope you will enjoy!!

Thank You Barbara! I had to run this beauty through the High Pass filter twice due to a strange low motor hum background noise, I find just but a few Brunswick records from this time have this issue! But it truly is a wonderful record!

I love your impressions about this splendid recording ("summer evening complete with soft Angelus bell as the stars are just about to peep out songs"...). This is so wonderfully smooth, polished and atmospheric indeed, and as always, Phil Neely is offering us a lovely, delicate vocal. Don't worry about those very minor sound issues, the result of restoration is outstanding, and listening to this was a sheer delight :-) Thank you so much for sharing!

Thank You so much! My description without punctuation was indeed how I feel when I hear this FANTASTIC Song! I know you have a song or two that just gives You goose pimples, and also just gives you truly wonderful unexplainable feeling, This is one that does it for me!! I had to share this one! By the way the flip side "We'll Build A Little Home" and another one from the same movie, "No More Love" is coming soon!

I haven't and I've heard a lot of Harry Warren songs. I remember when Lawrence Welk paid tribute to Harry Warren and he was in the audience.

Movie themed? What movie is this from? Must be a Warner Brothers as these songwriters were under contract there. Is there information about it on the label? Lovely schmaltzy 1930s tune you found here. Thanks for uploading. I can see why it's one of your faves. 😊

Abe Lyman's Orchestra was the orchestra for the radio program, "Waltz Time" starring Frank Munn in the first half of the 1940's. Abe Lyman's Orchestra was the house band for Groucho Marx, "You Bet Your Life" through part of the 1950's.
