Wow. I've never heard of Reckless Kelly, and while I like some country music, not my main genre. This blew me away. The guitar solo near the end was spectacular. Time to check out a little more of his stuff!
Been a fan for years. Love the Red Dirt scene. Go see these guys when they get back out on the road. One of the few bands we will travel hundreds of miles to see. RK road trips are the best.
Aside from being a great band with their own great songs ; hese guys have great taste in covers. For a real treat check out their version of the great Richard Thompson's 1952 St. Vincent ......blew me away!
Until seeing this for the first time, I just thought Crazy Eddies Last Hurrah was my favorite song. Awesome cover . Wish there was a download on iTunes
This song always had the ability to fold right into the country genre since the moment Mark recorded it on a resonator guitar. It's a timeless piece that not many can cover and do the song its true justice... these guys got closer than most.
HOWDY FOLKS, please humor this good ol boy. Here is a mark of an absolute hall of fame TEXAS/RED DIRT band. Everytime these fellows do an original song every hair on your body stands on end, then the same fellows cover a song I've loved since I was a young boy in the 80's and tears start flowing. The first time I had the pleasure of seeing them was in Waco TX, and Austin TX way back in nineteen hundred and ninety eight. RECKLESS KELLY FOR LIFE
@@karenrycheck3213 David left the band last year. He wanted to get off the road and spend more time with his family. He’s focused on producing now. Just glad I got to see them live while he was still with the band. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
Could never be as good the original as Mark Knopfler lived the song. He wrote it about an ex-girlfriend and every verse describes an incident from that relationship. Only he can relive those emotions when he sings it.
I tell u what that Ryan engelman blah blah he's good from troubadours But don't u ever ever sit there and compare him to David abeyta!!! So much amazing improvizing talent he has!
