The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway hosted it's Autumn Gala/End of Season Parade on the 21st and 22nd October 2023. The star of the show was Sian. She was designed in 1951 by Ernest W. Twining, built by Guest Engineering & Maintenance Co Ltd in Stourbridge in 1963 & delivered to the Fairbourne Railway in 1964. After several ownership changes she is now owned by the Sian Project Group and works on the Kirklees Railway, (Whistletop Valley). Also, the gala would bid farewell to the original engine shed at New Romney, as the shed is no longer serviceable and will be demolished and replaced. Alongside Sian was all the operating homefleet steam locomotives. However Shelagh of Eskdale, (On long-term loan from the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway), was towing a P-Way carriage early in the morning. The gala featured multiple double-headers and featured a cavalcade at the end, the latter not being in this video, instead being here: • RHDR Autumn Gala Caval...
