In the, for what its worth department, I was 14 when Apollo 13 made history. I remember it well. The first time I saw the movie, I knew they all survived. I was still on my feet cheering when I saw the movie. I have seen it at least 2 dozen times since then. I still jump out of my seat and cheer. My grandchildren did the same thing the first time they saw it, too.

That's what makes him a genius everybody knew in the audience those astronauts survive but it felt like it was brand new and then do the weightlessness scenes was incredible they had a built a set inside of an airplane call the vomit comet and they had to do a hundreds of times he is incredible director he was definitely robbed

I will go see a Ron Howard movie the same way I will go see a Spielberg's. Unquestionably. In my mind, he cannot do wrong.

I love Apollo Thirteen as much as I love The Right Stuff. Movies made about the American Space program can be some of the greatest undertakings known. Getting the Governments support and contributions concerning national security information can be next to impossible. Only a brilliant director could have done what Ron Howard did and a humble and compassionate man to share the story in the way he did. No Awards ceremony could convince me otherwise. He is Brilliant!💕🙏💕🙏💕🙏💕🙏💕🙏💕🙏💕

The only reason l went to see Apollo 13 was because Ron Howard directed it. Leaving the theatre after l said to my date that Ron Howard is a shoe in for best director Oscar. Ron didn’t even get nominated. The motion picture academy has no credibility in my opinion.

At this time in human history, Ron Howard should go back into the space themes. It's truly incredible what people are doing/discovering in that industry albeit its superficial in terms of a story of human experience. I'd give it another go Mr. Howard.

Ron speaks like a well written, fully rehearsed script by an actor that we can’t see working. Just flow. That’s so rare and difficult too.

You people have no idea what Ron Howard had to go through making Apollo 13 to do the scenes of weightlessness they had to go on the vomit comet that's an airplane that goes straight down for 20 seconds so you only have 20 seconds to film those scenes and they did it hundreds of times Ron Howard is by far the greatest director I've ever seen, everybody knows the outcome of Apollo 13 and how he directed it it felt like it was brand new he's a freaking genius,,HE WAS ROBBED,,

The Oscars cannot be the standard for someone’s work. Besides, there tends to be too much known about the Academy now and how it operates. “Best that people do not know how laws and sausages are made.” - Otto von Bismarck

An oscar award is NOT necessarily an accurate judgment of a film or one’s work, look who’s voting (the same people who gave Will Smith a standing ovation) it’s subjective - remember Elisabeth Taylor won an Oscar for Butterfield 8, the worst film in her career. The Academy is filled with many jealous, backstabbing, narcissistic members, for every Ron Howard, there are 30+ Harvey Weinstein’s.

This once again, just proves that the best person he did the best job ever that could’ve been done doesn’t get included. It was a travesty, and it took away from the respectability of the Academy.

The problem with all these studios is the old guys think they have to go woke. They have to cast against storyline. They have to follow the diversity trend. I promise this will cause their demise if it continues.

I'm sorry, but for those people outside of the industry and simply just movie-goers are not fans of producers of movies and simply do not care about that. Actors, yes, directors, yes, but producers, most common people do not know what a producers does. We do not care about Brian Glazer.
