My homemade version of an automated pea sheller. This pea sheller was mainly constructed from salvaged materials that I had on hand which kept my cost at a minimum.
Read your comments on how you built it but I need more details. I truck patch for a living and the people who shell peas and bean in my area are high and stay busy. I meed my own sheller. Thanks, Jimmy
I don't think scaling it down would create a problem and neither would the manual turning as I watched one on YT that showed a guy who made one in that fashion. Although you would probably need special tools to construct the device.
Ron, great video and project. Got a question-I couldn't see how the shelled peas got out of the drum with the Plexiglass sides on it? Thanks, this is a very timely project with pea season here.
I had to add the plexiglass to keep the hulls from falling through the wire cage. The plexiglass is mounted at an angle so the peas go through the wire and slide on an inclined plane to the trough, works like a champ.
