There is an interview from Cafu for a Brazilian tv show where he mentions that they talked in the dressing room before the match against England about how David Seaman played out of position sometimes to anticipate crosses. Other players have also confirmed that Ronaldinho never did practice that before the match but they they did talk about it in the dressing room before the match. On that same interview Cafu claims that just before the free kick he alerts Ronaldinho about David Seaman´s position and if you watch that highlights closely you will notice that Cafu is right next to Ronaldinho just before he runs to the box...the rest is history !

The obsession lol of course he meant it. Ronaldinho was known as a great freekick taker like so many other Brazilians. Brazil went onto win the World Cup in 2002. England need to get over it. This is like asking if David Beckham scoring from freekicks were a fluke or did he mean it. Of course they mean it. They practice, practice, practice, practice and when the time comes the practice most of time pays off.

Even in Brazil back then, they interviewed all the best free kickers like Zico, Juninho, Carlos Alberto, Roberto Dinamite, and others, and asked their opinion on whether he meant that shot or not. Most of them said he was trying to lift it into the big area for a header. They talked about the way he plants his foot on the floor and other technical stuff. This interview might be posted somewhere. But you see, this is the thing about Ronaldinho. The guy had charisma like Maradona, and that makes people see him way bigger than he actually was. Go ahead and hate me for saying the truth.

@FootkerSnookball
@FootkerSnookball Год назад
Why did they start talking about AshleyCole?? And also no he didn't have a great game there because Ronaldinho nearly made him fall over with his stepovers when he assisted Brazil's first goal. And the thing about always winning the personal battle with Cristiano is absolutely hilarious. When Cristiano actually got some experience (he's over 4 years younger than Cole, Portugal 2004 game was when Cristiano was 19) he became unplayable I.e the 3-0 in Jan2009 and the CL final 2008. Cole was just incredibly lucky CR7 moved to Real Madrid at age 24 he would've torn him apart for years he did in that 3-1 friendly vs Chelsea in 2013 but Chelsea were very lucky to avoid CR7 in domestic & CL football for 12 years when CR7 was 24 to 36. But CL final 2008 CR7 also beat Cole in a foot race for the ball when Cole had yards headstart (so CR7 beat Cole at his only skill apparenty, being fast) which could've lost Chelsea the game early but for Cech saving at point blank range from Tevez then straight after from Carrick. Evra had a much better game that final than Cole and was a better LB than Cole hence a much better career easily compared given they're the same age and both had a similar career I.e Evra at ManUtd from 2006 to 2014, Cole at Chel$ea from 2006 to 2014 and both moved to SeriaA but Evra kept winning league's Cole won very few but also played for big title potential teams. Even before Evra went to PL he got to CL final with Monaco while Cole lost in QF with so called invincibles.

@FootkerSnookball
@FootkerSnookball 10 месяцев назад
@@brianduru3753 LOL I'm glad you think I don't know anything because if you thought I did, I would feel sorry for you to think that a lame comment like that would outwit me 😂 I never specifically stated what wing Cristiano played that game (and he could play on both sides because he's both footed unlike Cashley completely 1 footed) but it is a fact that in the first half he & Cashley were chasing for a ball on the left ManUtd wing just after Rooney won the ball from Carvalho & made a long cross field ball towards CR7 (judging by your comment you'll also be confused with that but yes Carvalho "a defender" had been in ManUtd's half, you are allowed to move out of your position during play, defenders come up for corners etc...sometimes score...you saying Cole couldn't have been there just because he had an assigned position it's called being out of position) Cashley was about middle of Chelsea's half in about the centre until Rooney released the ball and CR7 was in his own half but the ball was going in his path wjere as Cashley had to run diagonally but CR7 had to be quick but only a straight run to get there first and I'd say Cashley did have headstart but also Cashley didn't even get close enough to CR7 to block the cross CR7 did straight after. It led to the close range headed chance for Tevez & Carrick rebound chance, that's just fact. I knew Essien started right side. But also that's even worse that Cashley didn't have to deal with CR7 as much that game but whenever he tried to he couldn't. Cashley could've lost Chelsea the game there & then failing to not at least prevent CR7's cross after he lost the race, Tevez had better chance of making it 2-0 than Cech saving. You would've thought that even if he couldn't quite get to the ball first he'd at least be close enough to CR7 to block the dangerous cross.

@@FootkerSnookballCristiano himself admits Ashley was difficult to play against. And he played against Essien in the 08 UCL to avoid Ashley. His goal scoring improved because his movement improved and he played more centrally rather than on the flanks. There’s no need to argue and use superlatives for something so obvious. In my opinion this was one of the luckiest World Cup goals in history. This was NOT an intentional kick at goal, but it was supposed to be a cross, and LUCKILY the ball just got carried further and went into the English goal at the very top right corner of the goal. This goal was lucky, a fluke and I would NEVER ever believe that it was an actual kick at goal......it was just a cross. But .....Ronaldinho took full credit for this goal ..... undeservedly.
