They just don't like all the media attention he gets. As a Browns fan, I believe half the fans turned on Baker when he couldn't connect with OBJ. Those of us who know that game saw that it was more of an OBJ/play calling issue than it was a Baker issue. Baker is a dawg, he always has been.

Most Baker haters have never watched him play, they are box score warriors who think the most important stat in the game is QBR. You can tell this is true by the fact so many of them cite his arm strength as average or even a weakness which can only be an opinion based on his physical size where in their mind taller = ball goes further but anyone who has watched him play knows hes easily top5 in arm strength in the league. The funny thing is even if you just look at box score stats, Baker is still a solid fringe top10 QB, i think Baker has suffered the most from going in the same draft as Josh Allen & Lamar Jackson so people constantly compare him to them and so far in his career and since Allen and Jackson were able to find elite success very early in their career Baker has been unfairly compared.

I’m soo glad that baker and the Bucs found each other. Baker most likely talked to Tom Brady when making his decision and the two of them are good friends. I think Tom sees a lot of himself in baker. It’s perfect because baker can grow out of the spotlight of scrutiny and come back stronger than ever.

Something else about Baker that I haven't seen during his time on the Bucs: His fake handoffs are elite. He's done it several times with the Browns, and threw touchdowns after fooling defenses with it.. He's also good at drawing defenses offsides. He's done that several times.

Great job Ronde! Loved Baker in college, more impressed watching him on Hardknocks. He is a real baller. Last year proved it. Really happy he is here. He has a great group around him. Hopefully, coaches are up to the task.

Since watching him play for my Sooners, I've always said he was like a greased pig. He could slip out of things you wouldn't expect Qb's to slip out of, and on top of that he's surprisingly strong on his feet. Several times I've seen bigger guys have a hard time getting him down, or fail altogether. One of my favorite moments last season was when he stiff-armed that big D-lineman into the ground. It would've made an awesome highlight, but another defender was nearby and brought him down immediately after. That D-lineman that got stiff armed got up and started proudly hyping himself up after that. 🤦🏽‍♂️ Lol (was it against the Eagles?)

He can be elite when he is healthy. It's when he gets a little banged up his play drops. I have said it since the land. If he was 6ft 4, he would be a all pro with the smarts and arm talent he has. The only thing he lacks is size. The other thing he needs is a big receiver like evans because the ball sails high from time to time, and evans can go get those high throws. Thats the mistake the land made. Getting him two small guys is jarvis and O.
