Camille Wilkinson I honestly think because he has always been envious of him and knew he couldn’t carry them as the lead singer, but Ralph could and DID... Love me some Ralph!!! Ralph had it all, suave, sexy, stage presence..😉
A lot of people don't know Bobby was King late 80's early 90's. His "don't be cruel" album broke major records and Bobby was a great Live performer. The ni66a was the best dancer next to Michael and Hammer at the time. The boy did serious Damage when he went solo
You really had to live through those times to understand that he was THE MAN because most of these young commentators only know the movie or that he was Mrs Houston husband, not that he was a Major Trendsetting Phenomenon.
True talk. He's been through it hard. He actually has the vocal tone and inflection of a 65 year old man. Respect to the greatest pure stage entertainer of my generation. Not to mention, he doesn't run away from his issues.
Right! And it's sad there's a division in the group. Mike, Ron & Ricky has always been close and about business. I'm so disappointed in Ralph he's the voice of the group.
I'm the same way & I've been a die hard since '83 (I'm also 42). I'm really praying All 6 come back together and give us at one more tour and some new music #NE4LIFE
My brother met him when he did a club appearance in KC he was drunk walking to the wrong car then he looked at my brother and said "damn you a big nigga"when my brother had to pick him up.
I like how Mike, Ronnie, and Ricky had Bobby Brown's back when people were coming at Bobby saying he was responsible for Whitney's drug addiction. They was like "hole up" yall not coming for my boy! Whitney was a party girl long before meeting Bobby Brown. Loyalty!
Whitney was following what her brother was doing. That's how she started. If I remember correctly. It's so hard to imagine that young, fresh faced, otherworldly singing, Whitney Houston, from the 80's, high on cocaine.
Watching this all I can think about is how Bryshere Gray & Elijah Kelly talked exactly like Mike and Ricky in the movie, like they really had their voices & mannerisms down packed! Honestly the whole cast was excellent
You gotta think though. Bobby Brown lost his wife and his daughter to some tragic stuff...right or wrong on how he's lived his life, that isn't for us to judge, but the guy has been through some shit foreal foreal.
Kendall S.W. and Pops. If you every saw the reality show Being Bobby Brown, Pops was a real one. He own the room everytime he entered the room...even with Bobby and Whitney in it. Yeah, Bobby has been through it for real.
He lost his dad, mom and Whitney within a year. One parent died the month before Whitney. Then his daughter 3 years later. His resilience is amazing. He could've easily relapsed.
I love how they hold each other down no matter the issues they go through For example, when Bobby gave the number out wrong Mike smoothly said: “it’s 844 Bob”. He did not try to embarrass him in any kind of way. That’s a true friendship/brotherhood right there. Salute to these Kings ✊🏾
DOPE how Charlemagne is such a Bobby Brown fan, EVERY LIL STEP is 🔥 as a matter fact the “Don’t Be Cruel” album is a solid 10, Babyface writing & production was the golden ingredient 💯 GOD BLESS
It wasn't right that 5 people quit a tour which resulted in them being sued by the promoters on the Home Again tour. Johnny was at every practice, interview, and show. He lost EVERYTHING. House cars jewelry. Everything. Everyone loves to try to dismiss JG. I wonder what NE Heartbreak sounds like without JG. What success would any of them have without JG. I bet when it's time to record they want SKILLZ
Bobby said why would I walk on stage with "Coke"....it might melt😂😂 he kept that real.. He said why would I mess up my hit...hell nah😂😂 👉 Charlemagne Perfect sense hello!
I met them in Hawaii in 2013 and Ronnie is a vampire! Bobby is so cool...so cool he walked up to me and kissed me on my cheek. I love these guys. I will always love them ❤️.
Yeah I’m 36 and my first concert was a New Edition concert when I was 5 back in 1987 my sister and cousins loved New Edition. I remember Bobby Brown left and was doing the ghostbuster soundtrack and don’t be cruel and all that he was the man back in the late 80s frfr. I had the haircut 😂😂
You really gotta think about it, these brothers knew each other since they were 8-9yrs old.... and now to be 40+, that’s INCREDIBLE! Brothers will fight/argue it’s EXPECTED. LOVE THEM!!
They had no idea Johnny was going to go solo and bamboozle the NE name. Johnny bit the hand that fed him. He can still rectify the situation for the benefit of them all. U.N.I.T.Y.
TAJATee That’s true, but business is never fair. It’s just business. What those four should do is pool their resources and buy the name from Ralph and Johnny.
They have to take some of the blame on that particular issue. Brooke Payne and the original five should've owned the New Edition name when Johnny Gill joined the group.
Just saw RBRM in concert this weekend & I truly was impressed. These 50 year old men would put some younger men to shame. They truly entertained their fans. Keep doing your thing, guys! Live your best life!
CTG asks the questions & says the things that casual people ask & say all the time. That's his strength. Envy & Angela are there for the other side of questioning. That's what makes them strong.Salute
*OMGGGGGG Yoooooo DOPE interview. I was born in 1980 so these fellas will ALWAYS be iconic & live in my heart. I'm glad Bobby is rocking with them. I can't wait for his Biopic. That nigga truthfully has a story to tell. Imma always want Bobby to win.*
Maybe Ralph and Johnny think that they’re David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks....they don’t realize how much people still rock with Bobby and BBD.....all 6 of these guys are legends in my book tho.....i was born in ‘81, so I was listening to Dont Be Cruel the other day....it sold 7 million in the US with singles like My Prerogative, Rock Witcha, Roni, Every Little Step, and the title track....these songs MADE the late 80s....
Ok so you’re my age. How well do you remember their early stuff when we were like 5 or 6? Lost in Love, Earth Angel, Girl I’m leaving you again, it’s Christmas
Much Love to Bobby Brown...I swear when I was younger we all thought Bobby was that "Bad Boy" and a bad influence on Whitney when really she was a bad influence on him! I swear the media made Whitney into someone she clearly Never was and they did one hell of a job! It must have sucked for her feeling like she couldn't be her true self all the time b/c of her "image".
+Carlen C...I don't know the whole situation with Whitney and Bobby. All I will say, based on interviews/books I have read is that it seems they were very similar (in the good and bad ways). Unfortunately, the bad things they had in common cost him is career/daughter and cost her her life. It's sad all around. They should have had more people who said "no" to them when they were hurting themselves and their daughter had to see it all.
Bobby Brown has lived and lived. He married the greatest singer of all time, created classic music and more. He really is the king of the stage especially on the male side of entertainment. He needs to get another TV show. You can see they really are brothers, they need to create a reality show with all of them. Take a look at their life now, I would watch. Would probably be like the braxton sisters for men.
Man I was in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1997 and I met Bobby brown in a night club. He and Whitney were in there. Bobby was running around the night club jumping over chairs and foot rests. Every jump he made, his body guard was right behind him making the same jump! It was hilarious. They were cool though. They danced right along with every one there. Now if you got too close, (to Whitney anyway) your ass would have been in the floor. After a while, they left but Bobby came back without Whitney. Myself and a couple other guys went to talk to Bobby while he was at the bar. While I was talking to him, he started swiping my shoulder, saying, "watch out for those lasers, you never know!" He was trying to swipe the laser lights that the night club be having, off of my shoulder. He was thinking it may have been a laser from a gun! Yo was high as hell, HAHAHAHAHA! He was cool though. He ran up to the DJ's booth, grabbed the Mic and said, "My wife is back at the hotel, she’s not feeling well!" and started MCing the party! He was a cool guy foreal!
Dysfunctional Masterminds!! Such power houses my God! And the way they just secured this new check with the RBRM is genius. These niggas can now get 3 different checks from touring. 😩🙌🏾🙌🏾
@@juliedavis7445 Julie Davis nah they literally had two different sets of the temptations touring under the same name at the same time. Nothing successful about that lol. Within New Edition you have Ralph, Bobby, and Johnny solo, BBD, RBRM, Head of State, and now Johnny and Ralph are starting to do shows together. Their revenue is endless. They could literally never perform as New Edition again and be straight.
Omg...so I was scrolling through the comments..Why is it always people talking about "if you weren't born in such and such time, you don't know about this" Like...dude I'm a 96er(I'm 22). Been on this shit. #OldSoul
Bob looks and sounds GOOD. I am glad he's doing so well. God bless all of these brothers who when it comes to R&B answer to NO ONE younger than the Jackson 5.
Yeah, but it wasn't his watch he dropped either! Go look at the some of the video footage, his watch is still on his wrist, unless he had two watches. LMAO!!!
Lauryn Davenport Hey, what are you talking about? @12:05 Char starts to ask him about what he dropped on stage while dancing. Then, Bobby says he dropped the watch off his wrist, not coke. But clearly in old footage, his watch is still on his wrist. So, what did he really drop??? LMAO
I love how these brothers talks still love and respect each other and what they have been through over the many years of being in the music business....mad respect to those guys!!!
Bobby..."I'm the king of stage!" CTG..."even now?" Bobby..."Yeah!" Crickets after Bobby responded yeah😬 and Charlemagne face after Bobby said yes was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 10:39 if you missed it!
We all remember the video of Bobby on stage lookin like he just ran a 10k holding himself up, barely could keep up with the dancing then just walking off stage!
I never forget years ago seeing Ronnie at Crunch Fitness in Marietta GA. I broke my neck.. had to double take. It was like seeing a unicorn. He was mad chill doing his thing. Actually saw him twice at that Crunch. 👍🏼👍🏼. Great men right here.
I'm 44 years old and grew up on NE, just loved listening to each individual keep it 100 about their lives, all the highs and lows- real talk! 40 years of friendship is beautiful blessing! Great interview with 4 legends!
I feel like it's a blessing that all of them are still living, a lot groups don't have that. So, put your difference aside and at least mend the personal relationship, we don't know how much time is left. Blessings to all 🙏
I love New Edition. Everybody has their side of the story, their opinion and their truth. Please remember who brought Johnny Gill to the group and why. Karma exist and we truly reap what we sow.
I'm so touched by how they are so Honest with all things that took place in each of their lives. Good or bad they love support and be there for each other.
Man these guys could've made so much money after that movie dropped... Sad grown ass men still bitter and can't come to a resolution. Everybody was ready to go to those concerts. The fans from the 80s all the way up to the new fans they gained from watching the movie. So sad
nicky rosey i was saying the same thing! These men been together more than half their lives how can they NOT get it together? That’s crazy!!! They really coulda made a new album and made crazy money but that in-fighting man....smh
nicky rosey It’s funny you can say that about grown men when there are so many women groups that refuse to join and come to a resolution. The only 80’s /90’s female group that has done this was Xscape and Kandi did not join them. Salt n pepper, but Spinderella didn’t join. Envogue, Changing Faces, Total and many more can’t come to a resolution.
@@geraldos9094 the women are a whole different argument by themselves and Kandi is still in the group she's just not doing new songs with them. Women stay mad it's like what's the fucking point. It's a double standard I know. But when it comes to the women we need a whole nother day. I also feel some of these women are over coming to a resolution and some of them need to stay gone.
I really love this group. The years to see them as kids n to see them still close regardless of any issues between. That bond n love that they have together is unheArd of as a band! I give them nuff respect ✊🏾.
