For more than four decades, profoundly influential bluegrass band The Seldom Scene has shared its undeniable talent, progressive repertoire, and creative spirit both in the studio and on stage. 'Long Time... Seldom Scene' features fresh interpretations of 16 oft-requested tunes and is the band’s first studio album since the GRAMMY-nominated album 'Scenechronized' in 2007. It’s a family reunion in all the best ways, featuring the current - and longest-running - lineup, joined by founding members Tom Gray and John Starling and guests Chris Eldridge, Emmylou Harris, and Rickie Simpkins.

I met Mr. Simpkins when he was performing at a fest in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia in the early 90s. After hours, he and a buddy were wandering around the campgrounds and spotted me and my buds jammin' away and he asked if he could try my dawghouse. Knowing that he's in the upper snubbers of the bluegrass orbit I said, 'Of course!' He didn't even get to the chorus of the first tune and the D string blew apart. He handed back the bass and just walked away...nary a word from him. Thanks Ron. And thanks to you and your brother for the great music thru-out the years.
