They should make it where the four engines are on a big turn table, and the turntable rotates one way or the other to steer. You could even have reverse then if the driver was protected by some kind of little cabin to block the wind from the props when the turntable turns 180°. Those rudders just dont get it. 🍻
For those suggesting little wheels or rollers: In the mud? Really? The only reason the operator is going so slow is safety. The boat has more than enough power to easily get across dry ground or mud flats. What you are forgetting is there is no reverse on it! The operator has to be very careful when he gets around objects that would stop his forward movement.
If this massive airboat works for the oil industry it makes lots of money! Face it there is not a better tool for transporting oil rig excavating in the swamp.
I always wondered why they do not install a roller system on the bottom?! Could be small wheels, or rollers that barely stick from under the boats. It would h elp so much in getting over ground, and save tons of fuel.
