Thanks for sharing the plans for the house! After viewing many of your videos, which I enjoy greatly, I’m left wanting a view of the vision for this place/estate, the backstory about it & you/your family, a full tour of the structure & property with narration about plans & vision. Perhaps you can break those up into some good videos.

I love the depiction and camera positionings! It gives a very spatial outlook. The paper cutouts are awesome too, which I also use them in a different setting as it brings a visual context that ties in the subsequent video feeds! Besides the great construction tips, it also works as a great instructional tutorial. GREAT JOB!

For me, the ideas in ru-vid.comUgkxAfqpMLyFn37qcqUl0FAzqkkycQeXqrhP Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.

Great channel, but i want to point out that everytime i have seen someone hit their finger in that way it is always the same finger that gets hit. I have mushroomed the tip of both my ring fingers the same way as you did this but have only hit my first 2 fingers with a hammer.

Hi just a tip on the blood bruse under your fingernail take an strilize a 1/64 " drill bit and slow by hand drill the nail to relieve the blood out and pressure so you dont lose your nail.
@Rhythmuspraesident
@Rhythmuspraesident 2 года назад
I'd suggest another technique for this. A doctor did this to me when I hit my toe nail with a big, heavy part of a cabinet: Take a small needle and make it very very hot with a lighter. Then just slightly press the needle on the fingernail and hot needle will burn itself through the nail. This way you don't have that much pressure on the fingernail like when you drill through it and you don't feel it at all.

A common misunderstandig made by amatrures is that lots of concrete makes it stronger. Fact: the other way around.

Nice to see someone actually mixing concrete accurately... I’ve started a barn conversion that requires a reinforced ring beam to tie all the walls in and a flat surface for my wall plate.

Absolutely. Good consistency on that concrete fairly dry, that will set fantastically.

Are you Shure of what are you doing? Do you reinforce also walls? Those walls are not designed to have a very heavy concrete roof. In Italy, after recent heartquakes engeeners discovered a lot of houses where destroyed by the weight of the roof that squashed down the ancient rock walls.
@carlroge
@carlroge 5 лет назад
the roof is no heavier than the original would have been, before the sheet roofing. we also put in deeper concrete slab floors in the rooms to compensate for the lack of wall foundation. where the walls are cracking, we also stitch them back together with rebar and concrete. and the ring beam on top of the wall is great at spreading the load evenly across the wall. lastly, we repoint the walls which again ties them together. i totally understand your concern though! its crazy how they never used to dig deep foundations.

Great planning and sharing video but recommend restoration without cement like olders made many years ago.. cement is not good either for structure of building and our minds about future. There are good options to save walls with organic materials such as Horasan, mud...

Why didn’t you just rebuild the stonework?
@carlroge
@carlroge 5 лет назад
Too much effort and doesn't tie all the wall in together. Think of it like a footing on top of the wall rather than underneath.
@justycrusty
@justycrusty 5 лет назад
carlrogers yes, I know what it’s for. I agree the ring beam is a far stronger job, but you could of kept it back from the face 8 inches to allow for stonework? Where the wall plate sits doesn’t matter
@carlroge
@carlroge 5 лет назад
True, but these walls will be rendered over at some point. On the main roof we did it as you say, but we needed to get this roof up quickly, and rebuilding the stonework takes a lot of time.
@justycrusty
@justycrusty 5 лет назад
carlrogers It makes sense now. If you intend rendering the whole elevation, I see exactly where you’re coming from. Wasn’t trying to be critical, just intrigued. Keep up the good work👍

Carpentry is the main dish for these fellows, concrete work is NOT. This top rim is oversized to say the least, and ugly since it shows atop of the wall from outside. Why didn't they consult the local bricklayer for a start?
