Near to my town there is a small monument put up where 8 years ago two 18 year old kids crashed in a Renault Megane convertible. The boy i knew quite well, because he was always around at the family that took care of our kids when we were at work. I drive by the spot at least 3 times a week and always give me chills. Last year, one of my son's best friends drowned in a harbour, trapped in the car when the , also very young, driver could escape. It's still very tough for my son. Especially cause they hadn't seen eachother for a long time after an argument, but were about meeting again. Which shall not happen anymore.
i spent 30 years doing roadside repair/recovery ive seen cars ripped in half and the people walked away but ive also seen fatal accidents with out a mark on them ... love the channel good work sir.
I can't even tell what kind of car it is? Anyone know the make and model??? Oh and Stu, brilliant video mate 👍 The young drivers out there need to know they are NOT INVINCIBLE!!! I have a 29 year old son who only rides bikes so that is a constant worry for me and a 25 year old daughter who has been driving a few years now and lucky for me she has her head screwed on and a 19 year old boy who also lucky for me isn't interested in driving or riding bikes. If one of my kids had been in an accident as bad as that one i would probably of been in hospital with a heart attack! Kids think they know it all and they just DON'T. PLEASE SLOW DOWN!!!
A valuable lesson in not sticking your newly passed teenagers in anything with a turbo, I remember passing and getting my first 54bhp Corsa B and that couldn't pull the skin off custard
Hope everyone is okay things can happen so fast even for ppl who have been driving for years like me so please let this be a learning curve for them ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you first put the camera in the car I thought it was a panoramic roof that had smashed untill you go round the other side and see peeled like a fkin bean can!! They were very lucky. Putting this on here might be a warning to anyone whether they've just passed or been driving for years, be safe people
First I am truly pleased nobody was hurt or worse here. There is an issue today in that whilst I don't want anybody to be killed in car crashes, the safety features on cars now have definitely emboldened people to drive faster in cars that are too fast anyway. There should also be a prosecution here otherwise she might think it was an accident, just one of those things etc, when it was totally due to driver error.
@@seancooper9138 I think your right, placing a pic of a Leon side by side to that mangled mess does show it to be a Leon. Quick cars those, glad they alll got out of it. If this vid slows 1 person down then its worked. Great vid Stu! 👌
I'm an uncle to two nieces and if that was their car I'd be panicking and I'd be worried as I'd want them to be OK and I'd collapse with fear and panic
We all did daft things when we were young. I look back in embarrassment now. But even after decades of driving we can all make mistakes. One second of not paying full attention is all it takes. Or someone else's lack of attention. Stay safe 🕊️
I flpped a Ford cortina 2000E after hitting a high kerb. landed in a field. upside down....I was only doing 26 MPH but the weather was chucking it down ,,I was young and didnt realise rear wheal drived cars in those days were terrible in wet conditions...Luckily I got out without a mark on me
That is one powerfull car for a new pass. I caused enough trouble in a festa 1.1. I went to a recovery yard once , about 10 cars in there all involved fatalities, it was really eire.
I am a driving instructor and I teach in a powerful car bit before any learner gets to take a test with me I have them on both country roads and the motorway. Alot of instructors teach them to pass a test I teach them to drive. As much as some people think a blackbox is a good thing I don't as all I hear is gonna have fun for a week before the blackbox arrives that is where there least experienced or after the first year of driving at the limit and thinking they can drive. I kever let my daughter get a blackbox and she hasn't so much as scratched her car well maybe scratched her wheel 😂
Glad to hear all are okay. At least they are all alive and well. Cars are replaceable. Again to all in the car, Get Well Soon. I can see a legal claim coming due to the airbags not been deployed properly. If you crash a car and roll it all airbags are meant to deploy especially the one in the Steering wheel and dashboard. Also curtain airbags and seat airbags should also deploy also.
Its great they are all ok and no serious injuries😱 BUT driving instructors tell there new drivers NEVER EVER drive on the same day you pass a car test as for that person is on a high due to passing i was told this many years ago when i passed by my test examiner and driving instructor for this very reason and you are by far likely to have a accident! At the same time people nicking parts its the cost of living and due to everything is expensive and its a free moment no one’s to stop them people will take what they can without being caught it happens all the time
Hi Stuart people are quick to blame young drivers, experience does play a part but I do think that new drivers shouldn't be allowed to carry passengers. it's likely the driver was distracted by her passengers, I've followed cars that have flipped over catching the Kirb . The car doesn't need to be going as fast as you think 40 mph will do it. Like you say others have crashed in the same place
its just down to inexperience really. they dont know the roads or what speed is too fast for the corners, especially if the car has cheap tyres on. lucky escape.
A bit close to home for me Stuart. I remember taking my cousins out for a drive in my mother's Datsun 120A just after I passed my test and losing control driving fast on a country road, thank God I managed to keep it on the road but bent a rear whishbone and had to do some explaining when I got home. It was a real lesson to me and it's true that you only really learn to drive after you pass the test.
