Well the NA forums are blowing up with the latest outrage as WGing mislead everyone about further economic nerfs to ops by labeling them as "buffs" (miscommunication issues again). And the "Waterline: Development Plan Updates - Fall 2022" video has been ratio-ed to shit.
@@caa4118 Same here, can't get Petro and Kremlin to work but Colombo, Lepanto and FdG where god tier for me with extreme RNG. Felt like I was playing a Sayan-Fusion between Thunderer, Kremlin, Stalin and Petro. JB still the best ship tho
I loved playing through Rooke, she's such a comfortable ship to play. I played her so much in the early access I could immediately research and buy Hawke. I think I'll get a permanent bonus for her in the anniversary event.
@@Aluminati1 I just got Hawke yesterday and played her in a few rounds of operations. I can totally agree so far. And I hope it's getting better when fully upgraded.
@@yah5o I hope so, it's currently captained by a 21pt Jack Dunkirk and I'm not impressed with how it handles. The guns are a nice step up though I"ll give it that
I've been loving playing the Rooke since I got her and I've been doing very well in her and I agree that she is so much fun that yes she is a bit OP for her tier. However I've just got the Hawke and the Duncan though I'm and they are quite disappointing and nowhere near as fun compared to the Rooke.
Rooke is an interesting ship. despite a waterline citadel she tends to eat citadel hits anyway due to the thin citadel roof. and while she has a horrid 1.5 sigma, her dispersion is so small that she can land decent groupings anyway. Also because she's tier 7 her 381mms pack a lot more punch than monarch tier-for-tier because overmatching other tier 7s compensates for her short fuse and rather low AP pen. I actually enjoy her a lot more than monarch.
I haven't been able to pick up the Rooke just yet. She seems like a fine ship so far, although as you've mentioned the guns are weird. I got the Renown though, been enjoying that one a lot. I don't really feel a need to progress much there though, Renown was a real battleship, it performs great and tier VI is quite fun/balanced. It can survive tier VII well too, gets to citadel tier Vs often. And it feels much more accurate than Rooke, even if it has less guns. It's more consistent. I also put brisk on the Renown, it accelerates like a sports car. Looks good, feels good. Repulse but with torpedos.
The new british bb line is amazing but dam is it weak in armour its more of a glass cannon then the schlifen (i dont know how to spell that name) atleast tier 9 and 10 gets a super heals and your side armour and turret angle is good enough to bounce
It's interesting to look back on this review. I only picked the game back up recently after leaving it behind about 3 years ago. The CVs are even more broken than when I left... but I digress. Rooke is borderline OP. It's the strongest tier 7 BB in the tech tree right now. Second best is P. Heinrich. Shocking that they are both new lines...
Interesting. Same for me - back after 3'ish years. I mostly agree on everything you say - except the Heinrich - or did they change this as well? Suddenly not sure if I have played it recently. Anyway the Rooke is a wonderful ship. Might be squishy - but if you play around this, it's hilariously strong.
I actually like The British BB, though instead of range I went with reload and Dispersion equipment, that limits it quite a bit the shell speed is, not exactly good, and with that i most of the time hit 5-7 per volley, I also love it when people forget you have that single torp and suddenly explode "Fear my singular torpedo". I am just not a fan of the Middle turret placement on the Vincent
Rooke is super fun. But sometimes the dispersion is WTF - I thought they had BC dispersion? Anyway - Monarch guns at tier 7 in a ship better than Monarch at tier 8. A splash of that famous power creep?
I have had a great succes with these ship. As dumb as it may sounds I take the risk and try to get close to my target. Works out for me with that playstyle
At the end of the first stage of the early access event I was five tokens (FIVE BLOODY TOKENS!!!) off getting Rooke. I though Queen Mary is okay, Tiger is decent, Renown is... well, I can make her work but she's not easy... but I just missed out on Rooke. I thought long and hard about dropping some community tokens to pick her up but chose instead to spend them on the junior crates because I realized I didn't really care enough for Rooke anyway. She seems quite good, but I'm happier with the Marblehead I picked up from the crates!
I have a question, do you get more citadels without the snipe mode (close-up) or in snipe mode? I don't think citadels are happening in snipe mode anymore. However, I cannot prove it. I am just wondering if anyone else is seeing what I see in the game.
