I seriously thought it was a simulation too…But why would you even want to drive with those screens? Basically turning real life into a simulation. I can’t even begin to imagine driving with those all day and night. It would just mess with me.
If the rookies afraid of a little electroshock, what are you gonna do shit your pants as somebody walks up and Robs him him go back to selling hamburgers for McDonald’s? I And leave t truck driving through the professionals🤣🤣
@@sergiosaldivar1738 Maybe if you need exaggerated gestures to pick up on sarcasm its because your brain is slowing down. Never has a screen prevented me from understanding plain English.
Personally I like my 50. It’s a nice even number and not excessively fast. If you’re in a hurry, I would agree 54 is certainly doable during a nice nap in the back👍🏻
people in the future with super advanced fully self driving cars are gonna see this and act like we do when we see posts that were really weird/didn't make sense for their time, but are normal conversation in modern time
Come on. That is no rookie. Else he would not have made that turn with 68. Secondly, he would not try sleeping with 68 on the clock or use gloves to turn the ignition key off and on. Most truckers die of that you know, they just get electrocuted and people will think it was just a heart attack. This guy is as pro as they come! Keep trucking my friend, may your speedometer always be at 68!!
I drive a brand new Volvo that only had 1100 miles on it when I started and this is my first job driving a truck after 13 years. I’m no rookie, though. I drove for two years before those 13 years.
@@joshroi8610 lol our trucks have 400k on them by 2.5 years old and they are being given back for lease return. They run 2 shifts though. Still pretty new though. And those electronic dashes are garbage.
I doubt either one of you have any idea of what is really going on here. There have been multiple recalls in the 2022/23 model paccars, Paccar being the manufacturer of Peterbilt and Kenworth. The digital dashes go out all the time. The previous company that I worked for had to send 15 new road tractors back to the manufacturer to have the entire dash replaced, not just the screen, but the entire dash. Digital gauges are shit in a big truck. I’ve never had an analog gauge fry, and I’ve driven trucks with well over 1.5 million miles. The newer ones with all the electronics and non mechanical components stay in the shop.
As an electrician that works with straight up mentals I can confirm it took me a second to figure out if he was being serious or not with the ignition😂
@@moto_45__ the irrelevant part was “I can confirm it took me a second to figure out if he was being serious or not with the ignition “ He doesnt even know how to use “I can confirm” properly😭
He’d be fine though. He had his rubber gloves on to prevent electrocution. If they can protect while turning off a key, there’s nothing they can’t protect you from.
Bro I remember I was on a 2 lane road that had really tight s curves I was in a crown Victoria and a cop in a charger passed me in opposite direction he whipped a u turn and came and lit me up saying I was going 62mph the road was posted 25 so that was a big ticket and I was laughing like how do you think I was getting this big boat of a car around these curves over 60 when I doubt a corvett could even do it. So I went back the next day to see how fast I can push it and I was screeching tires barely hitting 40 cop was a freaking liar
@@sargentdoggo6155im in Florida it was raining out I remember me in the woods with my car i turn the steering wheel but it wasn’t turn and i slid right off the road
Buy a Tundra they handle great for corners 😂 , But I assume since you said superduty and f150 its probably a f350 or higher and a halfton wouldn't cut it for the needs.
I have the same recall on a 2022 kenworth t880 its in the dash itself.last we where told here in northern Ontario tech's were waiting on a tool to correct the issue.all smart dash paccar equipped trucks can have this problem
Little tip there is a recall for those new digital dashes they are known to just randomly freeze horrible in the winter they have a software update for it at the dealer if not already done
@@1brownsfan296stick to playing with your little football cause you know nothing about trucks. Most older diesels would get 1 million ONLY OTR and even then not all. Some of the higher mile ones would have somewhere in the ballpark of 1.1-1.3 million. 2 million would be extremely rare and almost 100% of trucks would have had a rebuild or two at that mileage. FооІ
Good ol Poorlybilt, 2023 and I can’t help but notice your door seal is already leaving the room too! Its a good thing love is blind for the Paccar folks, or they’d be erased from the map already
IM FROM OSHA AND YOU PASSED THE TEST FOR YOUR PAY RAISE!!!! WEVE BEEN WATCHING YOU AND YOUR ABOVE STANDARD PERFORMANCE HAS EVERYONE AT THE OFFICE CLAPPING, THIS WILL GO IN THE HISTORY BOOKS OF OSHA, U REALLY DESERVE IT, YOUR SO SMART. EVEN YOUR DAD THAT LEFT YOU AS A KID IS HERE TO GIVE PRAISE , HE SAID YOU DID SO GOOD HE WANTS TO SEE U ON THE WEEKENDS AGAIN.
I work at a Rush Truck Center as an advisor and I can tell ya that the digital dashboard display has an open campaign for freezing, bring it in to have them fix it…
Bro slept for 24hrs in the middle of the road parked and doing 68 mph 4:42 am 😂 obviously hasnt read the owner manual to change the time should be 4:42 pm rookie
Those can get it wrong too. I was once driving the topspeed of 90kph with an iveco truck and the gauge said 120, drove 60 and it said 90, and 30 when standing still. Restarting the car fixed it, nowadays cars have so much electronics between everything that it can all be mistaken
@Josh Roi We got them a couple of years back in the uk they suck and are expensive to replace if they Get hit . Quite a lot stick glass mirrors back on when they get hit for a fraction of the price.
@@joshroi8610n Tennessee you are only required by law 1 rear facing mirror that can be inside OR outside of the vehicle. As long as you have a clear view behind you. Found that out in my wrangler by a state trooper.
There is a recall on that, you have to take it to the dealer, I drive a 2023 Peter built 579, mine did this and after it went to the dealer it has been fine
Seen it happen 4 or 5 times in a 2023 579. Sometimes the key needed to be off for 15 or 20 minutes before resetting. Bit easier to notice when you have the full gauges up. Can watch the tach, time, etc.
Good Ol Pete with them door seals tearing up and the infamous new LCD display glitching n freezing up. Kept me busy at Rush Pete. Lots of unhappy owners
Am I the only person who noticed that he said “2023 Peterbuilt car hauler” and it has over 120K miles on it and this video is from over 8 months ago as of April 2024?
wtf. perfect example of if you can breathe you can drive and this is why trucking doesn't pay very well anymore and we have so many stupid laws and regulations
Betcha rookie driver is wearing sweat pants and socks with flip flops tho. Puts on half rubber gloves thinking the key is gonna electrocute him. What a joke.
@@biggestjohn9137trucking dose not at all pay good when you get payed to haul a load its close to 60 thousand a year an thats twenty something an hour i can make thirty eight dollars an hour just by working at good year an make there trash tyres an yet get a good pay of six thousand because of over time truck driving dosent make that much
I am an extra truck driver. I've driven over half a different trucks, at least at least four different makes of truck. I've also driven three different decades of Peterbilt and the peterbilts have always been the worst truck I've ever driven. The newest Peterbilt I've driven had the power steering pump off of a Ford F-150. I was able to cross-reference the part number with Ford and confirm that it literally used an F-150 power steering pump. The only thing that Peter built actually concentrates on doing when they build their trucks is to make sure that their trucks still have plenty of power. They're good, drag, racers and super fast trucks. But that's the only thing that they do well is speed in my personal experience. They've been the worst trucks to drive because they shift the worst. They handle the worst and they have about the crappiest brakes of any commercial vehicle on the road that you can get. I think that the insurance companies should look harder into these things and if they looked deep enough in and compare them to other makes and models they would be the most expensive truck to ensure on the road they're also the trucks where I'm cruising down the interstate at 75 there flying by me at 90 to 100 miles an hour. Clearly they've got their target market and these are not good trucks. If I went back into truck driving and was doing anything that was not agricultural and my company put me in a Peterbilt I would ask them what is wrong with you guys these trucks would be my last choice to have on the road. Not to mention the fact that if you're not doing basic pull in on a simple parallel and park, drop your trailer and back into another parallel parked trailer that you're going to have a rough time with it because this is the only truck on the market that has such a terrible steering radius that to make a full circle turn takes a total of nearly four lengths of the truck itself but I will give it to you. They can almost compete with the Tesla semi with a 10,000 lb weight on the back. Just like the Tesla semi they can do a zero to 60 in about 5 and 1/2 seconds which is 1 and 1/2 seconds slower than the Tesla semi The only truck that Elon looked at when designing the Tesla semi was Peterbilt. He didn't look at Kenworth Freightliner or Volvo the actual manufacturers that hold a higher market share than Peterbilt, which is why the Tesla semi is such a joke and seems like it's just a dragster calling itself. A semi truck.
My trainers truck (I drive for TMC) would do that and his truck is a ‘22 with the digital dash but mine which is a ‘23 doesn’t do that. I believe Peterbilt did an upgrade on the software. Not sure what model year yours is tho.
But if the rookie doesn’t mention this to the people that owned the truck, they will never know about it on your pre-trip in your post trip. I hope you know what that is supposed to write down if you have anything that is not on the page right on the back of the page turn it in, and make sure you indicate on the front side of the page that there’s something on the back of the page they need to read
Reset your speed sensors by pushing them against the tone rings. They self adjust for proper air gap over 5 mph. Then scan the CAN for any active fault codes.
I also drive a KW 880 and it happens sometimes in the digital dash you have to kill the main power switch for about 10 seconds and then turn it back on. It will reset the gauge cluster it happens occasionally.
