YOU ARE THE MAN! Just last week my heater cut off found out it was the safety switch I tried to mess with it couldn't do it, so I went to buy another one. Later thought about maybe a way to fix it before I threw it away looked on RU-vid and there you were! Your a life saver!

Worked liked a charm. Make sure if you do this to use electrical tape, and properly isolate the connector, don’t want to start any house fires 😅

I just opened mine up today and there is no safety switch like that anywhere the heater I got looks exactly same but the name on it is lloytron do u know if this has a safety switch and where is it located

I bought a comfort zone heater last year and the safety started the same problem. The pin that pushes up through hole didn't go far enough to push the contacts together. So I took a match end to see what the problem. There was a little metal strip that across the after taking off the round button platform. I pushed the end of the match against it till the light came on , and turned on the switch and it came on. So I pushed the round button back on and tapped it till the light came on. Held it down. You have to turn it a certain so it will stay on. Set it on a solid surface.

Great 👍! But you need to remember that the switch is not working and it is not safe. Now you can either change the switch or change the entire unit. Good luck!

I had that same problem with a space heater. I cut the wire going into the switch and the wire coming out of the switch. Then I joined the two wires using wire crimp connectors followed with electrical tape covering the joint.

i think my my comment didn’t post so im gonna post it again 😅 my heater fell a few days ago and it had a burn smell when i turned it back on. A few days after it stopped working. the light of the heater turns on but the heater does not work. what do u think i can do?

Oh My God, we have Replaced almost 6 of these types of Heater within few years...We are thinking of throwing them away...Somehow, the same Problem of these Heaters are still Lightning Up when plugging into the outlet, but they all are NOT WORKING, NOT RUNNING/HEATING UP. We were using these Space Heaters for awhile and all of the sudden, once came and turned it on, it did NOT Work. Some of them have very bad Smell when plugging in with the mode on...I just hope if you could HELP me to STOP THROWING these HEATERS away since we have Repeatedly Getting New Ones within Months and within/ every other Year...THANK YOU VERY MUCH! 🙁☹️🥲

There is a thermostat inside. Just try to bypass it!

@@SMAVlog Bypassing the thermostat switch risks overheating, and therefore could cause a fire. Instead, the unit should be cleaned. The dust clogs the unit causing it to heat up. The thermostat switch is designed to shut it off before it overheats. If the thermostat switch is bad, it should be replaced. The same is true for the tipover switch. Momentarily bypassing a safety switch is fine if all you want to do is determine if the switch is bad. But upon finding out the switch is bad, it should be replaced immediately. The unit should not be used until then.

Good idea! But I have a better solution, now as the shops are opening their doors, why not buy a new $20 heater. My solution was only for the lockdown moment, when we suppose to stay at home and survive with whatever we had around us. Thanks

I had 2 heaters broken in this way. After I did the fix one of them worked but it smelled like it would catch on fire. I don't know if mine was some kind of a smart switch that would break if something went wrong or something. Or do you think it is the motor?

Probably but I suggest that you open it and check all the joints and make sure you use electric tape and also make sure nothing is touching the heater portion of it inside. It should make smell in the beginning and soon this smell should go away. Please keep close eye on it while using it at least for first half hour after fixing.

hello , my heater fell 2 days ago. It had a burn smell after i turned it on , the smell went away. later that day about 24 hours later the heater was working fine and no smell ! Then the next morning the heater light will turn on but the heater will not work. What do you think this could be?
