April 2024 - Roosevelt Lake, AZ
Fishing was tough in the morning thanks to a storm the night before that muddied up the water. I fished a frog & other topwater all morning without a bite. It wasn't until I started tossing one of my favorite baits that I started to get bites; the good 'ol 5" stickbait. It never fails.
Things heated up in the afternoon. Topwater turned on a bit but that meant I would be utilizing the stickbait as a follow-up lure; something I've had great success with this season.
It turned out to be a great day!

Man, I was out for 6 hours on Sunday up where you were. They weren't biting. Got one on topwater and one on a paddle tail worm. Maybe it was the cloudy overcast conditions.

I haven't been at Roosevelt since mid-May. I'm sure the pattern is changing with the warmer water temps. Could be just one of those days. But hey, at least no skunk! Better luck next time, my friend.

This is the Tonto end of the lake. I hear the Salt end is good too though.

This is the northernmost part of the lake. Commonly referred to as the "Tonto" end (Tonto National Forest). The other end of the lake is referred to as the "Salt" end, for the Salt River.

@@christopherbowman2266 The water level is way down right now. Most of the areas shown in this video are dry now. Still some good fishing though.
