I wanted to try something a little different, so we did a time lapse video of my rooting a doll head.
It took me just over 2 days to do the head.

It's a good idea to do it that way, but slower would be much more helpful. I'm getting ready to do my first doll, and i haven't yet seen a clear tutorial on how to do the hair.

@WillowsReborns - To attach both plates can be done in 2 ways, you can tie them together at the sides or you can tie the bow and slip in on. The oven I used to use is a convection oven not a toaster.

It makes it easier to root the vinyl when the head is warm. :)

thats crazy for how long it takes to do the hair. I'm going to be making reborns when I get the chance and this came in handy. now i know how long it will take to put the hair in.

Does the heated rice sack soften up the vinyl? i have broken many needles due to hard vinyl should i use a heated rice sack?

Interesting to watch Nikki. If you could the pictures coming a bit slower, it would be great! And maybe you should, in your intro, advise people with epilepsy not to watch because the fast clips might cause seizures. But it was so great to see how the doll's came along over time :-) But I like the idea very much!Keep them great vlogs coming!

When I attempted to root my dolls head I rooted the hair in the middle like what your doing here and it left long and short pieces of hair through the head. Any suggestions???

i wish I could see this in real time. I just can't seem to get the hang of the rooting. everything else doesn't bother me, just rooting. I think it's because I always try to rush it. Like you said, you've been doing this for a while and it takes you about 2 days. That would be 1 really long real time video lol

Can I ask how long that took you? Also, you're cutting the sides shorter as you go but leaving the top hair longer, is that correct?
