As a person who's had a lot of experience with centri blowers I would strongly only recommend getting ones that you plan on either spinning to max impeller rpm or slightly overspin so they don't lag, Also gearing is very important on centri's because if they have bad gearing like a C7z does on the auto's in 5th the acceleration will be very bad. PD blowers make up a lot for bad gearing or being in the wrong gear on both autos and manuals but centri's have to be in the right gear and rpm when racing.
An extra cab 4x4 that tows occasionally with a low lift Callie’s 210/218 cam seems like it would benefit more from a ls3 heads/lsa lid swap rather than a torqstorm. Thoughts? Love your content by the way!
Depends on the weight of the car and style of racing . On a heavy car a roots is better because it needs the tq but on a light car that already can spin the tires a race centrifugal is king outside of turbos because, more power per psi , much less heat soak , lighter weight , better power band for traction , carries hp and tq to redline and more mid to top end power. I’ve had both and the Maggie doesn’t even come late to my Ysi at less whp my centrifugal traps higher than my ported Maggie ever did with no heat soak or high iats ever. Both are good depends on your style of racing .
I agree that it all comes down to the overall setup with converter, gearing, etc. Check our other videos for a G8 with a F1 we have running really well!
Thank you very much for the great information. I'm having a tough time deciding which platform to go with. I have a stock 4.6 2v. It's a 2006 town car. Which route would u suggest I go with and why?
@nufnuffz28 I would say both. But, I like the low end tq. But that means I'll be going through fuel and tires like crazy. I was thinking of a paxton 2200 or a procharger. But, every race I see them in. I see them get smoked by a root or twin screw supercharger. Although I've seen some set ups on here which procharger/paxton and they take off pritty fast.
@Hello Stranger thanks. So, I should upgrade my rods anyway. Just as a precaution. I was thinking of paxton 2200sl. But others have said that vortech v1 is better. Idk. I thought there the same thing.
