I can’t watch this video without crying. I send it to folks when I tell them about rope dart. I tell everyone about it! I put Sara’s special edition black cobra dart in the hands of four people who have never heard of rope dart. The smiles on their faces when they shoot it and start to mess around with it are priceless. Thank you for following your heart and help cultivate this community. I never thought I would spin fire ever, and now I am. I still can’t do a neck wrap 😂🙊 My temples don’t like it when I practice that 😂 I want to muscle memory the basic principals. I downloaded so much by training with you and Sara, and other amazing dartists. Rope dart grounds me. It humbles me. It’s taught me to notice so much. It’s spiritual. It’s opened me up in ways I’ve never imagined I could. I hope to find my purpose, as you have. We ARE all connected by the universe. The rope is long, my friend. 🥺 #dartlife
Took your workshop at Kinetic Fire this year in May. I went to learn poi but I've been practicing rope dart nearly every day since. You really are a gifted instructor and a generous soul. Thank you for bringing rope dart to the world, but especially thanks for showing me how beautiful it could be.
Frank you are an absolute legend and an inspiration, watching you has made me pick up my hammer ( I tend towards meteor hammer) and get back out there regardless of rope burns and bruises so many times. Thankyou for being yourself and sharing it with the world.
Excellent video, Frank! My experience knife throwing is similar to your experience in rope dart, but isn't close to being the same. I started knife throwing right before the takeoff of social media and I'm also a former teacher. But your passion for rope dart goes above and beyond, especially taking into consideration how hard it is to learn a sport when its origin is in a foreign country. You're an inspiration to all those rope darters out there! Thank you for this video!
Supercat40 im subscribed to her channel and have seen plenty of her videos but i wasn't expecting her to comment on a rope dart video seeing that she is much of a throwing knife person.
THE UNIVERSE DOES WANTS YOU TO ROPE DART you motivated me so much for the rope dart more than ever before and your the reason why i rope dart THANK YOU FOR EVRYTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got done darting at a park and saw this! This may very well be my favorite video I've ever seen period! this was so inspirational and just thank you Frank for what you do, it's truly incredible! Your videos teach me so much and inspire me to dart every day and every where!
Love the philosophy and how you are speaking about conquering ones weaknesses. You are truly inspiring. I can tell that the rope dart has helped you conquer yourself. I can't wait to play with the one.
Hello from France ! Just started rope dart and I just love the feeling when you get to understand that the rope has it's own life ! thanks a lot for your videos ! I practice everyday despite my job, hope do be as good as you one day :)
Recently got back into it myself. As with you,it's a huge part of who I am as well. It's nice to find fellow practicioners, whether martial or performance art. You got some nice moves there. Keep up the good work!
I know this comment is five years late, but Frank you are legit one of the coolest people I've seen. Not only do you have a great mentality and interestingly positive world view, but you are DEADLY AND GORGEOUS with that rope dart. My favorite is how you do those uhhh "pump shots?" I guess you call em? Where you keep shooting and retrieving the dart quickly by doing that arm pumping/flexing motion. That's just amazing and super cool, I am very impressed and inspired to learn the rope dart better. I'm terrible at the moment, I can only shoot and retrieve, and do very limited wrap shots with my elbows and meteor strikes with by wrapping around my leg and doing an overhead smash using the momentum of unwrapping it. Basically I suck XD but you've inspired me to try and change that. I hope you never stop being amazing!
You definitively inspired me man. I truly admire you're hard work and i hope i will get to your level one day. i'm ropedarting from 2 year now and it's all thanks to you. Keep up the good work. Love from Italy
i learned rope dart through youtube videos and i get exactly what you are saying, i feel a deep connection with myself and life when i get into the flow of it, and i still practice where and when i can. thank you for expressing you self and being awesome.
Im not sure , but it might be the first time i comment on RU-vid , for sure it's the first time i can recall . your practice is deep and inspiring and your words reflect the inner state you gain through the practice . I have a similar passion dancing with a silk streamer used in some traditional Chinese dancing , but i haven't yet seen someone really doing it as a flow art . I don't know through the head any technic , only through the body , which learners through the practice . I had a vision of myself expanding and deepening my connection to god or to the universal conciseness through the practice , and also shearing it with others . Thank you for your practice 🙏
Beautifully said and sharing this video as well to help others learn the various ways we must find who we really are. We are about to go to TKD tonight. Im going to discuss a rope dart design I made including another I must make to learn movements around my head better. One of our black belts had a relative make an amazing crochet piece for him since he tore his ACL completely during a mma match recently. He has made a plan to perfect the rope dart as he heals for a year. You have found your passion and true path for sure. If we listen to the universe we can do great things. Much love to you and yours. 💙🌷🐲🐉🌿🍃
Really inspiring stuff. You describing it like Love, made perfect sense to me. Its hard linguistically to describe, but I totally get it. Thatś what my passion is like for me too.
Great Video and great message! Just ordered my first Ropedart a few days ago. Can't wait to start practicing. I am doing Flowarts for a few years now and it became my passion right from when I discovered it. Started with Contact Staff, then Poi and Dragonstaff and soon with the Ropedart. Thank you for sharing your passion :) Keep doing what you do! Lots of Love :)
I've been doing rope dart for about 6 months. I feel I've caught on quickly, but so much of what he does in this video is really amazing and hard to follow lol
Been doing martial arts my whole life pretty much. I use many weapons but I love the more dexterous weapons like this and I’m so happy I found a motivational video like this.
I have practiced rope dart for 90 days. I love the rope dart and now I do it every day. Just received my rope from Rope Dart Accademy. Getting a Dragons Tooth when restocked. #dartlife
That bandshell was where I first started to skate board when I was 17. I'm 45 now still live in Woodhaven & travel to work by skateboard every day. Keep going brother.
Lovely fluidity. My main practice since 1989 is zhan zhuang, tai chi and somewhat baguazhang qigong. Just recently beginning to also practice totally beginner rope dart, and dabbling in throwing knives & spikes. And love the deer hook knives.
You are an amazing man! Thank you for opening your heart to all of us and telling us about your beliefs! I'm so happy I got a chance to watch this because it reasured me that everything has a purpose if you have a passion within. Funny enough the first time I ever held a rope dart the woman who showed me said "You were meant to rope dart, it comes to you naturally". I never forgot her and what she has taught me. I plan on learning to master this art and enjoy it in the mouth of mother nature: on open vast meadows, on mountains, on hills. Thank you again for opening your heart
I do this with my keychain all the time, but a long ass line is pbly much more fun and there are so many moves to learn holy shit I love it. Wish I didn't have social anxiety to train it outside, like in a park or sth.
I need help,if i over extend the rope dart say a long throw and miss what would be a good quick retrieval,so i can keep using the dart without it just falling to the ground?
I like the way the way you think I love bladed objects but have great respect for them and I’m going to start throwing knives and then rope dart it looks so satisfying... thanks for sharing your content I was guided to this channel by xolette 🙂
Yes I agree that we all have a special gift, but there our some of us that just keep trying to go what they love, that natural talent that one wants to do for there career. It's a passion to them but at times it seems that it is always going be out of reach. Some dreams for some are just not meant to come true.
Bruce Lee has been my idol my whole life, and till this day still is, but this has open my eyes to a whole new art, by the way im a nunchuck master but when I tried this it was a totally different setting of difficulty, any tips for me my ninja friend.
I started with nunchaku as well. The Rope Dart Academy has a beginner Online Training Course on their website, that would be my best tip for anyone looking to understand the rope dart at its core
Ive been into wood weapons training for a really long time. Nunchaku and Bo Staff mainly. I went to a music festival and a guy wanted to learn how some staff techniques. So i taught him not expecting anything in return and at the end of the lesson he pulled out a rope dart and he taught me some techniques. I'm completely hooked. Do you mind if i ask you a few questions: Ive done a bunch of searching and it seems there alot of different preferences on the type of rope to use. Some say Dyneema, cotton or what ever. What rope do you prefer? Also i was wondering do you use a rope that is 2 times your wing span or holding the rope stretched out the dart swings by your knees, or something else? Whats the best community for tutorials? Thank you
Hi Jay, thanks for reaching out. The Rope Dart has a way of hooking people! My preference for rope is either braided cotton, or, using an RDA Silk Dart. The cotton needs to be worked in but once smoothed out is the best, imho. The Silk Dart is great feeling and ready to go immediately - it's super smooth. Yes, double your wing span is generally the most common and accepted measurement. If you search my channel I have a video on measuring out rope entitled, "Dragons Tooth Construction." Personally, I think the best resource for beginners is our website. We offer Training videos on the site, which are filmed in a comprehensive/building blocks format for beginners and seasoned dartists alike. If you want to get into the dart, my suggestion would be to go straight to those videos. The feedback we have gotten on the videos has been wonderful.
We have an Online Training series on our website, which you can download. It is designed to take beginners all the way through to advanced techniques. It has been assisting a lot of people in learning the Rope Dart
You're in good shape. Would you attribute this to rope dart.? I bought myself a rope dart last month. Then I made one, out of cord rope (made a monkey fist knot) and duct tape. Been practising for about 3 weeks now. Its addictive, and ive suprised myself, with the rate ive learned.
I attribute some of it to rope dart, yes. I work out regularly too so it is a mix of both. I will say that athletic skills such as speed, accuracy, timing, footwerk etc. is greatly enhanced by rope dart practice. Also, a few years ago we hooked someone up to a machine and had them rope dart vigorously for an hour - he burned 700 calories 🙏
brilliant video! Truly inspirational! I hear your Buddhist undertones. One Mind. One Universe. We are all a mirror image of oneself. One Human family. Thanks for sharing!
I gotta say, I keep coming back to this. I love your message and the way you convey it, I can definitely relate to this. I kinda wanna do a video sharing your words, but I don't wanna take anything away from this one, I just wanna get your message across. This has already been seen by 10.000+ people and I'm sure I'm not the only one it's reached and inspired, I mean look, here I am 4 months later (it's 1:30) I'm up early for work and I still wanna do a workout, nonetheless I have to make this comment now :p My idea is to mix footage with you and other rope dart footage, including from kung fu movies... as well as footage of others who are passionate about movement and using it to experience flow... and do a motivational video based on your speech. If you're up for it dude, email me the voiceover for this video if you've got it to michael.p.gottlieb@gmail.com (you can send it via wetransfer.com). Either way, it's up to you and no negativity from me either way, one love keep sharing your love of rope darting :)
Hey, yes, the Rope Dart is amazing for exercise. We have high performance and quality practice Rope Darts on our website, link to website in the video description. If you have any questions I am happy to answer them
I salute you sir. There are only few people who can hear that calling in life in martial arts, especially the weapons. If you have a minute or two check out my knife nunchuku work, Im sure that you'll find it interesting as well. Big respect, be good
Hey, great video, hit me up if you’re ever in Charlotte nc. I’m pretty good at rope dart also, I would love to trade some techniques with you. It’s obvious from your video, we could learn a lot from each other.
@@Supercat40 i frikkin knew it, anyway im currently luearning rope dart cus of u ( i made my own rope dart ) and starting to learn it and also became intrested in history cus ur brother 👍👍 bless u both from syria.
Jesus is God I have no doubt that he wants you to spend your life doing the rock dark. That’s the gift that he gave you to be able to do. Use it to honor him and believe in Him.
No, God is not found everywhere or under any name. His name is Jesus and He said that He is the gate through which all must enter. He is the Logos, the word of God and embodiment of God's mind and reason and ideas. He is a person, definite, specific, discrete (in a mathematical sense), and individually alive as you or I. God calls you today to serve Him with the rope dart, to honor His Son Jesus who is alive forever.
