Tiger Woods is back in action at the newly-dubbed Genesis Invitational, where J.B. Holmes defends. The tournament could come down to tournament host Woods versus Bubba Watson as Tiger fights for a record-breaking 83rd PGA TOUR victory and Bubba goes in search of victory No. 4 at Riviera Country Club. This is the first year the tournament will be played as an invitational with all top five players in the world in the 120-strong field. Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson join Woods and Watson to fight for the 500 FedExCup points that goes to the winner. Who will emerge victorious?

Its worth it. Watched him inside the ropes at East Lake during the TC. He’s a machine. He was hitting balls over the fence line at the range. Funny story: they had to finish sat round on Sunday, and he and his Caddie stayed on the range a little to long before he had to go to his starting hole. So Harry walks up to me and hands me Rory’s Trackman and saids can you make sure this gets in his locker...😀

He definitly has a powerful swing. He's rather small compare to other pro golfers, so he has a better gravity center, and uses it perfectly to creates power with his body. This is the best swing someone under 6' could wish. True perfection.

I appreciate the effort PGA Tour RU-vid but use a better, steadier camera, add a Trackman and shot-tracer, etc. You don't have to do it for every player but at least for the top/more interesting players like Rory. This looks like it was just some guy filming on his phone...

Link he’s told what to wear each day at all tournaments by Nike. He probably just gives most of them away to friends or family

Heard this on No Laying Up. He’s “scripted” for certain events and majors. He gets to pick out his own stuff at a good deal of tournaments. He gives a lot away since he gets boxes of Nike gear quite frequently and he can’t wear it all. Shoes last him two to three rounds before he wears new ones and they are all custom molded to his feet to prevent blisters. Guys at this level have a mold of their foot and don’t have to deal with the size issues most of us do.

He wore a cap with this style twice during the 2014 Open. He did not sign his sweaty, tournament-worn cap, but 25 identical caps you can find in any Nike store's shelf. One of this caps does not cost ~40$ but 700$.

Can some answer this for me; Do tour pros, such as Rory, warm up on the range with the ball he games? (Let’s say they’re TP5’s) And if so, what happens to the balls once he hits them? The reason I ask is because it’s a massive waste of expensive balls if they don’t reuse the balls for their other warm up sessions. Maybe they mark the balls and once they’re collected they sort the balls and get them back. Who knows. Understand it’s a strange question but does anyone know the answer?

Lewis Allen your second assumption is correct. The balls are sorted and reused. Sometimes after a tournament is over they get given away to regional junior golf programs.

The answer to the first part of your question are is yes; the caddies or players pick up bags of balls they play that are sorted out by the staff. The tournament director coordinates all that. When Tiger came to my course, Bridgestone sent a box of their balls that TW uses.

The picker collects them, and then they are hand sorted and returned to the players or their companies (I.e taylormade and titleist)

@Alexander Welch is that a joke? If not then Rory does uses a P790 2 iron but not a P770. He uses P730 and P750 and the P770 production had been stopped. As a result, he does not uses a P770 or P790.

What is Paul Casey doing there? I thought he would be spending more time with his family on the Saudi LIV tour. The whole PGA tour format must be surely boring for him, compared to the exciting and groundbreaking format of the LIV tour. Especially the whole music thing, who would have thought of that.

You're 100% right. LIV is super exciting coz everyone makes the cut, they play 1-2 a year, 22 holes max, best part is they have a new F1 racing team format - I think Bernie Ecclestone must be the tour director. LIV is like the Ryder cup, but filled with obese, pathlogical gamblers, or otherwise retired golfers who want to be paid for the luxury of growing the game by not actually playing it..............

bertraminc I love when the picker is out, moving target 🎯 and these guys wouldn’t be the best in the world if they got distracted by a ball picker, I mean they tee off with hundreds of people lined down the tee boxes literally feet away. And a typical amateur like you gets nervous when they have to play through a group of four watching their tee shot.
