Rory you are the one who is at fault. The referendum was not about a new trade treaty. In fact p.m. Cameron said this referendum is not about renegotiating Britain's membership with the EU. He said if brexit wins we would trade with the EU on WTO like the USA china and the rest of the world.USA has increases trade with the EU under the same terms that is offered to the UK. You can not get a trade deal with the EU while still been a member of the EU so every one that voted to leave voted to trade with the EU by default. WtO is not perfect it is a stepping stone to free independent United Kingdom. WTO does not cover services or air space. A new open skys agreement has been signed with USA and plans in place with EU. The city of London has put plans in place for trade and services to carry on for city of London. World trade organisation rules needs add ons and the more preparation you do the smoother the transaction. Had your government spent more time putting these into place we would have been out of the EU with np money paid. It is remainers people like you and Prime Minister May trying to keep Britain in the EU and leaving in word only.We have done all the debating before the referendum. It time for MPs to leave on WTO like the people voted for 3 years ago.. Remainers are putting this country in danger of Dictatorship by the British government or the EU German dictatorship by refusing the except the Democratic vote. We do not need a vote in the commons to leave on WTO as that what the people voted for by default when 17 million voted to brexit. . You lost leave and then after a year or so ask the people if the want to join the EU again. Once the people see project fear is fake news they never want to join A trading block that was 20th century and is now not fit for purpose in the 21st century. The EU is the only trading block in the world to be in stagnation for the last 10 years. The EU after 10 years of stagnation has now moved into recession. Time is to start building a great Britain for our kids. Let the Germans build they own European Empire. We the British have to raise the bar for our political class. Stop giving jobs on gender and ethnic minorities return to the best person for the job regardless of colour race or gender let the most talented rise to the top. This country needs the best leadership at this point and not political correctness that will lead to skidrow and poverty for the workers. Leave the socialist EU Flatshare behind it's very 20th century no longer fit for purpose in the 21st century. It now cost less to get products from China to London than it does from Paris to London. 21st Century Global trading is the time of the container ship and the internet. Never in the history of Britain is it so unimportant to trade with your neighbour .It is now global trade at the Flick of a switch.. I see Mercedes-Benz to build it new factory free from EU Red tape producing cars in Russia that tells you how unimportant the EU is twentieth first century Global trade. Wake you educated fool

@eml9147
@eml9147 5 лет назад
@Archaeology Decline and fall of my hair line Fair enough, The only concerning thing is the fact that the EU is very powerful, so maybe its not a good idea to play hardball with somebody twice our size. I wonder if, through good negotiation and authentic governance, they'll see the mutual benefit of giving favourable terms to us. If we still cant negotiate a good deal with a fresh-faced and promising new PM, *then* we can play hard ball, or some other method. But i reckon it should be more of a last resort due to the fact we'll likely come off worse, and we wont lose out through failing at the negotiating route. But once we've picked up the hardball, theres no going back.

Rory Stewart is a very practical politician. Let us compromise and move on with our lives. I cannot argue with this, it is very democratic. As a business student from an American business school I know for the UK to leave the EU is a big mistake. This is a challenge for a democratic republic. Different political factions must compromise in order for the country to move on. But if you know this will hurt your country's ability to sustain the best standard living for your citizens do you sit idly and go with the crowd? Sometimes politicians have to lead their people in the right direction. This can be political suicide in a democracy where most people do not understand and will tragically follow the wrong path. Andrew Adonis is the only one who is trying to warn the Oxford Union (educated?) crowd. Unfortunately, he only received a polite support at the end of his speech. While I agree with Adonis' arguments it may require too much understanding of European civilization. This crowd is Oxford Union, the best and the brightest of England and the world, and yet they do seem to appreciate what is going on. What a shame. If people like Michael Woods and Bethany Hughs do not understand, then you cannot expect the average citizen to understand.

Rory Stewart a lot of words with no democratic meaning or direction. Compromise takes two sides to agree.The EU don't know the meaning of compromise. I don't know of any other Nation who had to give up sovereignty in order do a trade deal. After all we were told by Ted Heath and other MP's that the Common Market was a trading organisation. Duplicity at work.
@notfreshprince
@notfreshprince 5 лет назад
To take it from another point of view, the EU is obviously not going to give us what we see to be a 'fair' (basically what we have currently) deal, because how would it benefit? It's all well and good we want sovereignty, but I think that is wholly dependent on our ability to also be able to realise that this is in fact the best deal we are going to get. We have made the sovereign decision to get the best deal possible without receiving any sort of empathy from the EU because that's what we apparently wanted.

Why did the police stop looking for the murders of Jill Dando & Doctor Kelly because Dave Stewart Annie Lennox and Tony & Cherie Blair had something to loose stolen children and Royalties for songs The Miracle of Love and Here Comes the rain again, from Michael Boyers, their friends responsible for carrying out the murders including the murder of Michael Boyers son, with a former police officer Janet MacKenzie who's ex husband Rob MacKenzie is one of the gang members responsible for the murders of Jill Dando, Doctor Kelly my son and none other than Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed, the ring leaders are Ian Henry, Mi5 and the CIA same people, Grant Tully, Terry Boyers, Ian Henry has amusement arcades in the Newcastle Wallsend area, that pay for the murders including the murder of his former brother in law Peter Gowling, shot in the head in front of Ian Henry by Russell Bonalie who's mate Norman Massey shot Jill Dando in the head, at the time Massey had a remarkable resemblance to Barry George and was working as a chauffeur, drug dealer and ponce for members of Parliament and QCs and claims Tony Blair was one of his best customers, he also did not deny shooting Jill Dando on two occasions that he tried to befriend me in Newcastle City Centre having known him as a teenager, other gang members George Tully along with Stan Henry and Alan Duncan boat builder murdered Ilene MacDougal better known as the Torso in the Tank 1978, the murder of a 17 year old innocent girl that Jill Dando was investigating as one of two unsolved murders, thee other from 1967 Angus Sibbet also murdered by Stan Henry former amusement arcade and casino and nightclub owner now in the health club business formally known as Springs. who’s daughter Kay Henry Gowling, was having an incestuous relationship with her father leading to her insanity, she thinks she and her incestuous family can get off with trying to murder me and the murder of my son with former police woman Janet Mackenzie, who’s husband Rob, along with Ian Henry, Grant tully, Russel Bonalie, Joe Bonalie, Santos Cuscanni, Alan Rankin, Bob Senior, Mike Emerson, Ian Jenkins, Sylvia Cutter, Ernie Cutter,, Dave Stewart, Annie Lennox, Eddy Fenwick, Charlie Gray, Terry Boyers, Joe Boyers, Barry Cubby, Tommy Stuart jnr & Snr, Alan Dag, Colin Hume, and Patrick Terence Thompson, one of the drivers of the white vans seen stalking Jill Dando, and Peter Gowling, The Met never followed up on the leads, so as to help the Blairs get off with child abduction, Katharine Blair is my daughter and not Tony Blairs, Pedophile Billy Blair along with his family are targeting me via Newcastle Social Services, controlled by Adulteress and incestuous pedophile Cherie Blair, who lied to me to get me to have sex with her, then stole my daughter Katharine, and tried to have me murdered on a number of occasions here and in America and Australia Lord Brian mackenzie's Son Robert Murdered Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed as a gang from the Northeast Ian Henry who's father got off with the murder of Angus Sibbet The One Armed Bandit Murder 1967 covered up by Sir Billy Blair, Sir Ian Blair Lord John Stevens and Lord Brian Mackenzie and Inspector Michael Hafferty who is related to the Murder Stan Henry through his sister In law June, Stan Henry went on to murder Ilene MacDougal better known as the Torso In The Tank Murder South Shields 1977 it was an initiation into the Blue Lodge of Scottish Freemasonry known as the Duncan Rite of Passage the other murders are Bill Duncan so called worthy master laughable and his brother Alan Duncan, also george Tully who's son Grant who also murder with the help of his father Nigel Minto a young student at Sunderland University I know that for a fact as they arranged for me to be living in the flat downstairs to Nigel Minto they tried to break into my bedroom as it was next to a communal passage of the ground floor, both Nigel and Myself had seen the old mark 10 royal blue jaguar that was hidden in the garage at the back of the house at 40 Roker Park Rd Sunderland after the murder of Ilene MacDougal The Torso In The Tank, they murdered Princess Diana to get off with those murders they then went on to murder Jill Dando who was closing In on the Murders who also had a side line providing child prostitutes for members of Parliament when visiting Fulwell Infants School Sunderland where abducted children were taken to be schooled so as to make it easy for those scum to access, as the brothel they use when in the area is only half a mile away from the school at Stan Henry and his son Ian's mansion West House 4 Boldon lane east Boldon South Tyneside England UK, I know all this for sure because my cousin In Law had a meeting with Jill Dando and Doctor kelly jesmond as the police report will also confirm, he was the son in law of the Murder Stan Henry and wanted out, after they set him up for a Cocaine deal in Ireland where he was sent with their money to by Cocaine he was arrested in the Airport in Ireland, he was shot in the head with a pellet gun by Russel Bonalie and Ian Henry big time drug dealers and informers for the police from the North East Stewart would be ideal casting for the role of Richard Rich in Bolt's 'A Man For All Seasons', going from his self-incriminating statements here. When did 52% in a vote become "an even division"? He supported the abolition of the Kingdom into becoming little more than a Grand Duchy under the control of a foreign power in the 2016 Referendum, in that he is on the side of Adonis, regardless of his attempts here to pretend otherwise here. The country voted to Leave the eu, & the current political order was elected to the House of Commons in 2017 on manifestos pledging to obey that instruction from the people & legally implement that decision, & a majority of those politicians have done the exact opposite for the last 2 years, using parliamentary process to impede it. This appears not to concern Stewart, which in itself is a warning against him.

52/48 is a pretty even split, I don't think that's too much of a stretch to be honest. Many countries would expect a two thirds majority for such a bold move into the unknown, but common sense seems to be in short supply these days.

Sweated labour is fine but does not qualify a leader more than the ability to articulate a vision for a nation - you'd not vote for your nearest labourer. You have not thought through what you have just said.

Like RS as a person. He seems a very decent and principled individual but what a relief he was voted out of the running for PM. Nothing but snake oil on this matter ergo staunch remainer in sheep's clothing. I am all for a reasonable 'non-binding' deal but with Rory we would simply end up with May's treaty.

Mr hedgehog has, as every stiff collered neutered upstart which sprang from the Bellfry into the deep moat of british politics, been taught the ins and outs of how to capture the attention of his fellows by practicing on them for years with little consequence ! His eloquent renunciation of the people of britains "democratic vote !" Only puts him , in my view, deeper inside the hole which conservatives have dug for themselves. Therefore rendering this speech about as meaningful as his hedgehog rant.🤗
