She wrote ROSÉ but She's still the ROSEANNE ,the Daughter of MR. And Mrs.Park, The sister of Alice Park. She's Still on the Ground. We must not forget where we came from for what we are today Humility is the Key. That's my Bias wrecker
The fact that she's the song-writer makes it more memorable. she conveys how all her life, all she wanted was to be on top, be on the highest position, be above everything and everyone else. but as she started to be THAT person she wanted, she realized everyone who seeks to be on top, they always come down. that's why she looked back at the old rosé. and it's a great presentation of choosing humbleness over anything else. a way of saying, "chin up, but never look down on others". Song-writer Rosé, WROTE THAT.
The scene in the bridge for me explained everything...you can see her in black and pink dress watching the younger version of herself playing the piano. And after the younger version went to write Rosé on the mirror as like " that's who I gonna be in the future . But then Rosé herself with the blackpink dress come and write Roseanne instead. It means a lot of things first that she started from the bottom, dreaming about fame, being liked by others ect. But then she grow up and she realised as an artist but also as a human that the only thing she needs is the things she already before before even being famous. Her passion for music, friends, family is enough. That's how personnaly I see the meaning.
Perfectly put, I'm not a big fan of them so I don't know much in depth about their personal things. But this is exactly the message the song and MV was giving me. Rosé was what she wanted to be her ideal self in a way. Then current Rosé, which she worked hard and grew to be changed the name to Roseann. It's like saying that those 2 aspects of here are the same person, it doesn't have to be either they can exist both in her simultaneously.
“Basically the song is looking answers in life, for purpose in life, and i fell like people can relate to it. sometimes when you kind of on that roll, you kind of forget to take care of what matters to you most and it just a song that says that everything we need is already, you know, within us. there is no need to go out and look for it.” -Rosé
I interpret the mv that way: in the 1st chorus she's loving the fame, she made it so the fireworks are going off, she's dancing etc, but then in the 2nd verse we can see the change in her that she doesnt love it that much and it's lonely so then in the 2nd chorus she burns everything, and then in the bridge there's pre-debut rose and that 'lonely rosé' form the 2nd verse. the pre-debut rosie is dreaming about fame so she's writing her soon to be stage name "rosé" and it cuts to the same shot but with "roseanne" written on the mirror but the room is empty and dark cause all she wants to do is come back to her roots, to be "normal" when she was just roseanne. Then when there is a scene with the piano im not sure but maybe rosé idk accepts everything? she sees herself when she was just so innocent and she sees that she always wanted to "make it" and then she realizes that she did make it and she's proud of herself. she accepts the fame but she also realizes she doesnt need all the fireworks so she's going to try to be happy and she's gonna try to enjoy the smallest things etc.
this scene has very deep meaning. the one who was playing a piano was ROSEANNE, a trainee who is really working hard on reaching her dreams to get high, and the one who is watching her is ROSÉ, the one who worked all her life just to get high on where is right now but she realized that in reality, everything she need was on the ground.
That one scene where she is watching herself playing piano is the 24 year old Rosé talking to her 16 year old trainee self & she’s telling her that she has worked her whole life to be on top, to be known, to achieve great things - but realizing what matters most is what’s already there (family, friends, loved ones)
haters were s funny if yg is that pwerful creating a star why the f*ck other yg group is not as successfull as blackpink dispite being promted better than blackpink
It's a song for her past hardworking self, roseanne. as you have seen in the mv, the one who played the piano was roseanne and rosè's watching herself, how she worked hard and tried her best achieve those attainments, also when she wrote rosè in the mirror she was shown, then a short clip was shown with a writing of roseanne in the mirror and she didn't appear in that short clip. in the end, what you needed was on the ground (within you, the memories and efforts exerted). it taught us that we should never forget who we were, where we came from because without those struggles, getting high is nothing at all.
She seems happy, so am I. She put her soul in these songs and I can absolutely feel that. I am proud of her. She is not only growing as an artist but also as a person.
this song is so SO her .. ! she always talk about her trainee days with a lot of emotions, and you just can tell this song has a very deep meaning to her by the lyrics and the mv, she couldn't do something that represent her more than this, and im so so happy and PROUD of her !!!
this song is honestly really good! and I can't stop listening to it too..bit ones I read some comments I kinda got upset because some of them were saying like there's one 2 songs after waiting for 2 years but I feel like she just debuted as a solo artist and it will take time for her to make more songs I really wish she get alot of love and people appreciate her more... and what ever you said about the YG thing honestly I felt much more calm seeing that someone can actually you know say those things because they talked without even knowing what actually they went through when they were trainees ...I hope she deserves more love ❤️
Also, it's kinda funny cause sometimes singing with an accent can sound like singing in *cursive* 😂 ....... P.s.... I'm excited for Bang Chan to play this during his next live 🤟😌
This song is so beautiful! All of us know that YG working very hard for all of their artists. With all of the treatments, facilities and awesome comebacks that they given. Especially this past year, we have been received so many comebacks even a new group. So if we are a truly YG Stan, lets support YG Entertainment! 💙
You are indeed rich... vinyl album is so expensive😱. i preordered Rosé album too.. hope i’ll receive it soon with no delays... her worked is impressive and it’s worth the wait.. the long wait pays off with good music and whole production.. Congrats to our multi talented musician and artist Rosé🌹🥰
Well to all the haters keep being pressed. My idol is not like your idols who are dreamy and unrealistic unlike rosé. She did not make a main track for romance because she had beyond concept which is her journey wherein we all could actually relate to. This is Rosé, this her solo debut, this is her moment, she is an inspiring artist.
on rosé's countdown vlive, she said this song made her look back to her trainee days and to know things that really matter. she's like reflecting on what put her on where she is right now. i really really love the message of the whole song and my favorite part aside from the chorus is the second verse cause she seems reffering to her parents.
i love how you are just so mesmerized by her you dont even need to say anything... you just stare in awe and want to tear up cus of how proud you are of her.... ahhhh 🥺
You're right! It's all about their talent, charisma, strength, everything to make what YG gives them work the way they have. Remember there are 5 others originally scheduled for Pink Punk that aren't there anymore with Blackpink. And a lot of them have gone on to other successes meaning they are talented too which just tells you incredible the four in Blackpink actually are!
Rather than any love song out there, this is the song that I found to be the most relatable at the moment. Having just graduated and gotten my dream job, somehow I've forgotten to take the time for myself and those around me. Rosé is such an artist. She never fails to blow me away, and I just KNEW she was gonna kill it with her solo debut!
The Rose playing the piano is the old Rose. In the lyrics she says dropping by a house. And in her interview she mentions that it’s her going back to her old house and seeing how she lived and grew up. So the pink dressed Rose is her current self and the Rosé playing piano is her past. That’s why the scene where she autograph on the mirror has both Rosé and Roseanne.
I have to tell you, I always wait for your reactions. You are a person who provides so much good energy, I don't know how you always put a smile on my face 😊 I've been following you for a while now and I'm grateful for the day that RU-vid recommended me one of your videos. I don't speak English very well, but I understand almost all the videos and I really enjoy your content. Thank you very much for what you do, kisses from Argentina. 😍
I just wanted to say that your review about her mv was really on point and i would really want to thank you for appreciating her song. She poured a lot of herself in this album so im very happy to know that she conveyed her message to her viewers beautifully.
This is the perfect and honest MV reaction I have watched. Her opinions are honest and true! Everything she says are true. She really understood what Rosé is trying to convey us listeners. Everyone should watch this MV reaction.. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Your reaction is the only Reaction video i completely watch w/o skipping the talking park because i really want your opinion. Rosé is so Down to Earth type of idol, she knows how far shes in now but she still think that its just a bonus.
Analysis: The song itself is really interesting, definitely different from what we’re used to see from YGE and Blackpink, we can feel that this is Rosé, this is her music, her style and her own world and this is very appreciable. The song really got everyone surprised I think, it is not what the majority of us were expecting. It is often said that 'GONE' is a better song and should have been the "title song", but personally, I love both songs, they are so different but complement each other so well. The meaning behind 'On the ground' in my opinion is about Rosé being truly herself, she’s exposing that both Rosé and Roseanne are the same person. She doesn’t need fame, glam and glitter to know who she is. All she needs is on the ground! Secondly, the mv, pure art... Amazing filming and editing from YGE, as always. If found interesting to have some references to Blackpink’s previous music videos, the chandeliers refer to 'D4' and probably 'Whistle', there’s also the omnipresence of fire which obviously refers to 'Playing with fire' and we can associate the explosion of the car with the explosion of the statue in the first chorus in 'Kill this love' music video. And we all know how YGE loves to make appear cars in Blackpink’s music videos. I think those references are made in a nostalgic purpose, Rosé traces her journey as an artist, as a member of Blackpink which leads to the person she is now. Rosé or Roséanne, no matter what, we love you ❤️
Rose said that its about looking for answers in life. And that song that says that everything we need is already within us and there is no need to go out and look for it.
