This was one of the hits of her debut album 'Los Ángeles' along with 'De Plata' and 'Catalina' (you could also react to them, they're amazing). The LP was formed of classical flamenco repertoire and with a simple and more traditional arrangement compared to the two singles of her upcoming album. 'Aunque es de noche' was composed by Enrique Morente from a poem by XVI century's San Juan de la Cruz, and I would recommend you the original version, which is also amazing. I just would like to comment that flamenco has been mixed with contemporary music since the 70-80s: Camarón and Morente mixed it with rock (la leyenda del tiempo and omega are reference records for popular culture in Spain) and a lot of other important musicians has been mixing it with jazz, pop, indie music etc. Even with rap music (La Mala Rodriguez is the best example) . Rosalía is mixing it with urban music and is becoming kind of a revolution because the way she is renewing the imaginery, she is part of what is call the new flamenco, with singers, musicians and dancers reinterpreting the tradition. Hey! Love your reactions to Rosalía. Just wanted to give you some insight on something you said about Flamenco women as a Flamenco dancer myself. Yes, we dress very feminine, but the energy Rosalía is emoting, I agree is masculine, but it's also very feminine Flamenca. The whole attitude in Flamenco is pride and defiance, even if heartbroken. She is very Flamenca as we say.
She has a Frida Kahlo unibrow in the video for her song A Pale. Different kind of song. But she does all kinds of genres. She mixes flamenco, trap, reggaeton, pop, all kinds of stuff. Also watch the videos for De Plata and also there is a video of her live performance of De Plata, which will absolutely blow you away. It's just her and a man on an intense guitar. Other different music and videos of hers: Baghdad. Autre Cuture. TKN, which features Travis Scott in a reggaeton bop that is fire, also featuring dozens of kids dancing with her and with Scott.
Must say this before continuing to watch: YES, Flamenco and pop, and urban genres (and electronica, and even metal) have been put together ONE THOUSAND TIMES. That you didn't know about it doesn't mean it didn't exist lol. What's special about Rosalía's second album is HOW she experiment mixing the genres at levels that haven't been seen before. But making Flamenco mixed with pop music? There are hundreds of artists doing that, and in the 90s there was a blast of those lol. But of course, they gained fame in Spain, only

Beautiful but, new voice? This exact genre is what my Papa, Isidoro, R.I.P., was listening to when he was young ;) Rosalia, and other nowadays artists in Spain, masterly brought what music here has been for centuries. From the Gipsy Indian roots, mixing all through Arabian culture finally settling on what Spanish flamenco could be. Then after that, there is much more!
Do a reaction to Rosalia's "Aute Cuture" is more mainstream and pop. And for a more tradicional sound do a "me quedo contigo" in the Goya awards or "pienso en tu mirá"
you should rect to catalina (one of her most popular songs), de plata and also antes de morir (her collab with c tangana and her first hit). if you want to react to another spanish artist you should check bad gyal. she makes a fusion of reggaeton and dancehall. she doesn’t have a big budget but her music is amazing. you should check fiebre and her latests videos candela and internationally
