It was this time when sir Mike taught us about respecting the artists and their music. We also discussed about some disciplines about putting a show for yourself and when is the right time for everything (solo, groove, emphasize others). Because it's really not always about ourselves.
After the discussion, he told us of his experience long ago being reprimanded and being put to humility by his teachers when he shred a song from start to finish. It's all about the heart issue, we're talking pride here. He said, "be effective and be a blessing".
After that, he chose this song as an example to play as is and so we broke down the sections together and he taught us how to play the song Rosanna by Toto.
