He wouldn't have done this for anybody but Willie. I hope the crowd realizes that this old troubadour is one of the greats. When he and Willie are gone, we will never see their like again.
We certainly will never see the honesty and sincerity of the old guard. There are no troubadours to sing about the things going on that need changing now days.
I cried like a baby. I was fully aware he was getting a little feeble. That didn't get me. I cried bittersweet. How precious of Roseanne. He seemed so happy to be performing and proud that he was keeping up with the lyrics. I was afraid I would not get the chance to see him perform again. I hope this isn't his last, but should it be, what a wonderful last memory! Thank you so much poster. And Kris, as always you are unparalleled. Love you so!
You echoed my thoughts exactly, and I think the absolute legend, who was the sound of my childhood, who only did this for Willie, should stick to his guns ❤
Kristofferson has lived a fascinating life. The stuff of legend: Rhodes Scholar, Army Ranger, helicopter pilot, boxer, songwriter, and more actor. I could go on and on. I had the privilege and honor of meeting him in 2013, after a performance in NY. He told me don't make me cry now. I say to him, don't make me cry now. Just sad watching someone so brilliant and accomplished smile with a gleam of yesteryear, with the end so very near. It must have been bitter sweet to have Roseanne Cash sing beside him. It must feel like she's standing with her dad, in a way.
Oh my heart....it is so hard to see our musical heroes getting older. I have been so blessed to have such great musical influences throughout my lifetime and thankful that Willie and Kris are still around.
What a true gentleman. He never got a big ego, just like his dear friend Willie Nelson. Sure miss the other Highwaymen - Waylon and Johnny. Bless them all.
Kris looks like he is on his way out. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves while he's still here to enjoy it. Would love to see a Memoir come out from Kris, he's the only Highwaymen without an autobiography. One of the greatest songwriters ever.
Kris had a large part in Ken Burns documentary on Country Music. He was as humble and grateful for all the blessings his music gave him. Waylon said it was unusual to see Kris without a baby in his arms.
God, I love this man!!!! Age gets us all but I have followed him forever. Greatest songwriter ever. I think he had the most fun singing with The Highway Men. Johnny, Waylon, Willie and Kris were the best. ❤❤❤❤
Kris still enjoys singing beautiful harmony to his own songs. Guess he was really excited since he doesn't performe anymore. But he looks so happy... Love it ❤️❤️❤️
Hello Tina. Was this not the most fantastic thing? It seemed the crowd didn't fully realize what royalty they were witnessing. However because those of us who love him so much will not let his legend EVER die. My children and Grandchildren certainly know. That crowd will someday recognize what they had the honor or seeing and appreciate it even more. He just gets more precious with time. What dignity he has and how wonderful of the women who showed him such respect and honor by accompanying him and assisting him. They should probably consider it one of the greatest honors of their career.
Kristofferson’ is enjoying his Twilight. Roseanne inspires the Soul. Legend’s never die- they live on in our Hearts & minds❤️ many classic artists will be leaving us in the coming years. I’m getting up in age too and thank God for another Day.
Saw Kris for the 2nd time in 2016, and it was apparent to anyone that he was an old man - and sure he missed a note, or a chord - but he did so well, and everyone left with a feeling that they saw something special. It's apparent that Kris has aged a lot in the last 7 years - but still lovely to see him go on stage for his own friend. Easily one of the top 5 song writers, and an underrated singer in his own right.
So very correct about his singing. My husband hates his voice, and it definitely isn't classic trained, but NO ONE can sing HIS songs like he can. I prefer hearing him over many, many others. The fact that he was aware he didn't have a great voice, but blessed us with it anyway is one of his fantastic traits. I'll forever be grateful he blessed my generation with his talent. Love you always Kris. 💓
Unequivocally the most memorable performance of his life! I thought nothing would ever touch me as much as “This Old Road “, but I know now this will be with me from here on !
Always! My heart skipped a beat and the tears started flowing when this video began. One of the all time greatest performances in any genre or any generation. Shows so much the love of friendship.
I am 90 and grew up with the best of the best when it comes to song writers and singers. I love listening to classic country, when there was a message and one that you understood and could actually hear the words.
Sad, bittersweet, wistful, happy, joyful awesome, and any other adjective you wish to assign to it. For me it would have been tragic for it to have never happened. For that I am forever grateful.
Johnny's smiling down from Heaven ❤ His gurl walking the talk making him proud ... God bless the tenderhearted Greetings from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪...❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing... Your version captured the moment...
Beautiful. I kept thinking of the concert that ‘The Highwaymen’ did at Nassau Coliseum back in 1990. Must have been an amazing experience to watch these legends together.
Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..
I am just proud of people for taking this for what it is just a beautiful moment with an American Icon. I'm from NJ not a country fan but recognize Chris is an absolute treasure. This performance is amazing. Again so happy the negative comments are hard to find.. we all age, we all die.. he is livin it up until the end.
He battled with his health for a long time and they finally found out it was lyme disease. He moved his family to Hawaii and said goodbye to the road and music. As far as work goes but last I heard he was writing a book.
Wow!! Kris Kristofferson. I have loved him and all of the Highwaymen since my late teens. I got to see Willie along with Hank Jr. and Leon Russell at Laidley FIeld in Charleston, WV in May of 1983. I never had the money or opportunity to see Kris or the other Highwaymen live.
I am in my late 60's and it's a sad to the the last of our greatest song writers and favorites getting old.. I know it's part of life Willie and Kris are the last of the greats.... Now days nobody's careers will never last as long as these legends ,we are so lucky to have them and they will always be remembered Rosanna I could see the love in your eyes with Kris Such a heart warming feeling to see the love and respect given by you... Thank you We live you and you dad too.
Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..😊😊

What a great effort by Chris. I think he did pretty good considering. No one at all cared if the performance wasn't perfect. Some songs when sung are just pure emotion. We can see how close these two are. If this is it for Chris performance-wise, what a way to go!
Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..
W performance. Not much of a music fan outside of JC, but I can assure you it's good to still see people who performed with him still alive. As I saw someone say earlier "Kris looks like he's on the way out", I do hope he lives a happy rest of his life.

@@brendajeanproffitt6919 I’m fine thank you for asking…how are you doing and hope you weekend was great I’m originally from Norway currently living in California what about you ?
You were always great, and "Mr. K K Stofferson"(Sorry) my nick name for you, You were original, didn't care a damn and I will be singing your songs till.....whenever!!!! My musical hero; but I did cry when you divorced your 'Loving Arms' partner
Johnwillbegone....Yes, Time can be considered our 'enemy', but it is also our healer and comfort-giver, the giver of wisdom ( hopefully ), and a fuller understanding of what our lives are truly about. Time rounds off our rough edges.
Perhaps this may be Casey's last ride'..... ..."Oh, " she said, "Casey, it's been so long since I've seen you" "Here, " she said, "Just a kiss to make a body smile" "See, " she said, "I've put on new stockings just to please you" "Lord, " she said, "Casey, can you only stay a while?" Casey leaves the underground and stops inside the Golden Crown For something wet to wipe away the chill that's on his bone Seeing his reflection in the lives of all the lonely men Who reach for anything they can to keep from goin' home Standin' in the corner, Casey drinks his pint of bitter Never glancing
@@c.r.stewart9434 no, I didn't miss it. I also don't feel commenting about how old he looks doesn't do the man justice either. You seemed to miss my point. Not every musical artist possesses all the traits that constitute a complete all around talent. Many have great voices but couldn't write a song if their life depended on it. But that's not something that needs to be said. Nobody says, "well, Joe Cocker had such a unique voice but I don't like it that he doesn't write songs" or "Bob Dylan, what a legendary singer/songwriter, too bad he can't sing". That's the part you missed about my point. Some things just aren't worth sharing.
Well he's made million of $ for doing something he's not good at. And even if you knew what you're talking about He is one of THE BEST song writers who ever lived "Me And Bobby Mcgee " and many more, he is way more than a handsome face!
Fans of Kristofferson should read a book called, “Transformation of America”, written by an MK ultra survivor named Cathy O’Brien . The song “The Silver Tongued Devil and I “, will never sound the same to you again.
