I remember my father didn't care for Ol' DY at the start of his career, then i told Pop "you know who does care for DY, Buck Owens, he friggin love's the kid!" Pop absolutely loved Buck & promptly changed his view on young Dwight Yoakum. RIP Dad & Ol' Buck too,, i sure do miss ya both 🙏 ✝️
hey Robert I have been a Willie Nelson fan for a little more than 50years and I'm thinking Willie's legacy will last for quite a few years through people still singing his songs and newer songwriter performers like, Chris Stapleton, and others who are saying they believe in the style Willie's music and won't mind hearing that their music is being compared to Willie's, and I for one 1⃣ truly will miss hearing Willie's voice and guitar playing on any one 1⃣ of his bigger hits and I for one think he would be a candidate for the Country music bubuHall of Fame(posthumously, and I'm thinking that some of his albums will have a surge in sales ,now that he's gone and im thinking any tribute music and albums for Willie's legacy will be big sellers
Hey Robert C like I said elsewhere I'm thinking that Willie's music and legacy will be with us for quite a while and I'm thinking that there will be a new popularly of Willie's music in the various genres that his songs were popular in
Dwight is keeping the Bakersfield sound alive now that we've lost Buck Owens and he's helping bring back the popularity of old school style country music again 😅😊😮😊❤are at 73years old (on July 15th of this year, 2023) I being a pretty much life long Country music fan, couldn't be happier 😊😅😂❤
I was there for the sat tribute and celebration of Willie's 90 th birthday it was awesome and amazing to here all those country singers in one amazing show
Damn! That was good. I remember the first time I heard that song, was working on building the trans Alaska pipeline. Paul was s.o.l.i.d. Willie needed a drummer on short notice and although Paul wasn't a drummer, he sat down on the kit, and by God!, he was a drummer!
Great everyone celebrating Willies birthday, Dwight got the best version of Me and Paul. Dwight never disappoints. Love that song. 7 years since Merle passed. Great to see Kristofferson there.
Frances I pretty much agree with your comments about Willie's Birthday celebration and I think that his music will live on for a long time with Country performers and performers in the other genres of music that his music was always popular so we may not have Willie Nelson around any more, I'm thinking his music will live on for quite some time and I'm thinking that he will be remembered throughout the music world with tribute albums and some of his latest albums enjoying sales surges
[Love how Dwight goes over to Uncle Larry and says something, does a couple moves, and the look of genuine joy on Larry's face. It's like we're up there with him, he took us all with him and we get to experience it thru his joy. Awesome.]
Sure was good to see Dwight doing some of his signature moves while playing one of Willie's signature tunes. Willie & Paul were the dynamic duo back in the day. I'm proud to say I saw those two in Willie's concert in the very early 70s. Dwight did it up well.
Love you Dwight 🎶🎶💞🤗💞 HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILLIE🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉PRAYING FOR MANY MORE🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉THANKS FOR SHARING THIS GREAT MUSIC AND AMAZING ARTIST/ ENTERTAINER 🎶🎶🎶🎶💞🤗💞
You go Dwight! I can vety well imagine the feeling of that invite and the Fun! Always adored Willie and Dwight as well. Excellent music talent and actor, Dwight absolutely is.
Love me some Dwight!!!! He made ripped jeans cool when nobody else did and duck taping boots!! Thus making me understand that just because I wasn’t like everyone else I was damn cool because of it!! See I already was duck taping my boots and wearing torn jeans! That is the artist way!!
Dwight's got the moves alright..........egads we'll miss that leg thing when he's gone....better keep goin' a bit longer please, like another 30 at least
If you do not think DY in talented, just listen to him cover a song and make it his own. He always shows respect to the many stars that came before him.
Typical of the younger generation who just listen to fly by night people with one per cent of Willies talent. All they do is look at there modern comfort blanket (mobile phones) with little idea of communicating with people.
@@raymondoakford8357 I'm technically younger generation, and I love Willie Nelson, as well as other classic country artists, as opposed to this new pop country they put out today. I hate having phones and social media and would much rather have a real conversation with real people rather than texting and watching social media.
Dwight must be deaf and can only hear his acoustic if it’s screeching. I saw him in concert a year ago and his acoustic guitar was godawful. When he played electric it was not nearly as bad.
Thanks for the video. But the camera is not your eyes. Stop thinking the camera needs to constantly pan and zoom all over the place like your visual curiosity. Makes for a horrible video
Does Dwight Yoakum only have the same pair of faded jeans, shirt, jean jacket, and hat that he's been wearing for the last 25 years? Might be time for an upgrade.
