Poor baby and mom , zoo should be illegal. really sad to see them in this condition. Humans are the worst creatures on this planet, free those elephants
Rose-Tu is a rescue elephant and the elephants In the Oregon Zoo are well taken care of and have a massive indoor and outdoor habitat with lots of enrichment. They're some of the A happiest elephants I've seen. Unfortunately, Lily died at a young age because of her disease, but if you look up videos, she was a happy baby and well loved. They tried so hard to save her with their best vetrinary care.
Yes It is common in wild life.. and it is very painful.. but zoo is not an option to compare.. this is itself lifetime punishment for these innocent animals
The Oregon Zoo actually takes in rescues that can't be returned to the wild and need constant care. Most of their zoo is dedicated to the elephants, with a pool to fit them all for swimming, an indoor area and round the clock care. They work with wildlife organizations to humanely innovate medicine and spread awareness of wildlife conservation. Polar Bears International, for example. They make every effort to return every animal that can live in the wild, back to the wild. The Oregon Zoo also helps repopulate endangered species, along with many other zoos. The red pandas, for example. Not every zoo is the same and zoos have come a long way. R.I.P. Lily. She died of a disease at a young age.
@@poonambhatia3627 This zoo only keeps and takes care of animals that can't be returned to the wild. They take very good care of their elephants and all their animals, with plenty of room. They are also larger than the average zoo. Unfortunately, Lily died at a young age, due to a disease.
They actually have most of the zoo to themselves, that emulates ther natural habitat, a massive indoor area for warmth and a pool that fits every elephant for a swim. They are the happiest rescue elephants that I've ever seen.
Rose Tu, the mother, has suffered abuse at the Oregon Zoo. A trainer was fired after beating her for 45 minutes with a bullhook. Lily the calf her tragically passed away from herpes EEHV at age 8. We need to end zoos. These animals need to be in SANCTUARIES or in the WILD
Rose-Tu is doing very well, she has her elephant family at The Oregon Zoo. I saw her two weeks ago hanging out with Chendra, they were playing in the Elephant pool. Unfortunately, Lily died if a disease years ago and the veterinarians did everything they could to save her. Everyone was heartbroken. Oregon Zoo has a good channel on RU-vid!
Look up the map of The Oregon Zoo. It's huge and they spent millions on their habitat which includes everything and that includes a pool for all the elephants to swim in.
So beautiful yet so terribly sad. Born a slave in captivity never to be what it is meant to be. What a sad, sad world we all live in doing our best to pretend it isn't. Making excuses to prove it isn't. Paying money to see it.
It's her instinct to push the baby to start walking...walking is survival in the bush. Looks like she's forcing baby to keep up with her movements around the stall just as it would have to keep up with her in the wild. Least I thinks that's it. :))
That's a small portion of the Forest Hall, the indoor area of the massive elephant habitat, with grass, flowers, dirt and a pool. Also, Lily died as a baby. RIP
