Galinas Books YES....I ❤ you. That was my fave episode!!!- That and Rosie finding her old stash of weed. I never did a drug, but I never laughed so hard. I'm no prude to comedy!!!
The funny thing about it? Back then, I was college age and after, and Roseanne wasn't much on my radar. But I'd see an episode now and then, and I saw reruns over the years. -- And then my whole life turned upside-down, and some of the show's jokes or serious topics, I saw my own version in real life. Like being so low on money that I thought of Roseanne calling ketchup a vegetable or a food group, which I would've thought was terrible, and then I understood what she was saying, you make choices, you do what you have to. Other things like that from the show hit home for me, various ways. -- So I want to see the new show and see how it is. Now, my life's a little bit better but still shaky, and now I can relate to the show more. So, bring it on! I want to see how it goes. And because it does have so much meaning to it, I hope it'll be really relatable and relevant now. Go for it.
Finally. A real tv show dealing with real American problems. Reality tv shows are getting redundant and boring. It’s good to have these reboots like Will and Grace, The X Files, and now Roseanne back on!
I cannot wait for this. I don't even watch television any longer. I haven't seen a "TV show" in five years that wasn't streamed and binged, but goddamnit, I'm gonna watch every episode of this series the minute it airs. This nation could use the Conners right about now.
Donald Trump is Affirmative Action for the GOP 😂😂 Good!! The show isn’t for people like you that can’t take a joke!! Learn to laugh once and while it’s easier than being judgmental and bitter over someone’s else’s choices.
James Dooling I agree!! Too many people get offended by every little thing!! Laughter is always the best medicine. I’m sure someone will hear one her jokes and fall to the floor offended 🙄🙄 People need to lighten up.
Sadly it drove us further apart. She lost her life's work bc this country pull the "race card" and we don't know how to forgive someone someone when they made a mistake.
For $25 you can buy the first Roseanne series on dvd on amazon. www.amazon.com/Roseanne-Complete-Barr/dp/B00BUWD7E8/ref=tmm_dvd_title_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1522026774&sr=8-12
I loved the old series in my 30s (still do cuz I watch the reruns all the time) and now that I'm 69, I can't WAIT till the new series nurtures me through till my dying day ... God bless the Roseanne show!
I do believe you mean you loved the old series when you were in your 40's? If you are 69 then you were 39-40 when the show debuted at the end of 1988 and you were 49 when the show ended lol. You can't love what didn't exist in your 30's. Smart ass I know ;)
Joseph Miranda .. Coulda been a dream ya know? Like Dan dying and returning from the dead after 20+ years to step into his role again . Haha .. No, you're right. This explains why all the reruns of today are so unfamiliar to me!. Does this mean I'll get to live my 30s all over again??? (wink) Happy Easter to you.
This has always been my comfort show. I’ve said it for years. Whenever things are really messed up in my life I go back and watch an episode of Roseannne.
Yeah... I mean, is it Sarah Chalke or that other lady? I feel bad to say that cuz the other lady is the original Becky, but that's just how it is. Who is she? I seriously can't remember her name.
I watch all the reruns on my Laff tv. I am in tears thinking about how much this show has been my heart my whole life. With all the real. All the tears. All the struggles. And all my laughs... from the bottom of my heart. Thank you Sara and Roseanne and everyone for stepping up and, saying yes to this revival. Buzz is on. Everyone I know, are watching. Lots of prayers to you all. Your fans are still here.
I'm sure as hell no Trump supporter, but I will say that I loved the show growing up. I always thought she was a cool, supportive, strong, take no bullshit, yet still sensitive mother. Roseanne Conner/Barr was the ORIGINAL feminist, unlike those who claim to be so today, who have taken things so far left they've lost all sense. And I say this as a left-leaning moderate. Society is in decay. It is no more evident than now, where you have a billionaire celebrity who previously lived in a golden tower, who has longed for years to gain respect and adoration from the "Hollywood elite" as well as the business community, be the POTUS and "savior" of middle America's working class; where trash like the Kardashians are looked up to and emulated. I'd like to believe that Roseanne Conner of old would never have voted for Donald Trump, because Roseanne Conner of old would have recognized that he is no different than Hillary Clinton or anyone else infesting DC right now, on EITHER side of the aisle. Trump is just as much of an elitist as Hillary is, both out of touch with those they claimed to want to serve. We don't really matter. What matters in D.C. is campaign donations and what donors can get in exchange for their endorsements, in the way of tax breaks for the rich and deregulation of laws, while abandoning COMMON SENSE legislation which is NOT the same as taking your rights away completely. "You scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours." The Roseanne Conner of old would have recognized exactly that. She would have recognized that the current Republican and Democrat parties are both mob factions. Just like she did in the episode where she was visited by the Illinois state senator who tried to sell her a load of crap. She was so "woke" to him, that her knowledge of the truth chased him away. The fact that it was a WOMAN schooling a man and putting him in his place made it all the more poignant. And she did it all without the aid of a ridiculous, embarrassing pussy hat on her head. Imagine that?! There are so many episodes I can recall watching and coming away with such respect for Roseanne Conner. I don't know if this reboot will have the same magic as the original, especially with Roseanne the character and the person being a Trump supporter. From the clips I've seen so far, it all looks contrived and pandering, even down to the laugh in the opening credits. I'd like to say I have hopes for the show to be a success, but I'm not so sure. We'll see, I guess.
The original was, I'll say that. I'm just going by what I've seen from the clips so far. It just doesn't feel as authentic as the original. She's wearing the chicken shirt right at the start, and the laugh is forced. To me, this show is more focused on Darlene being the central character as a mom, with her parents as background influences.
Laurie Metcalf and Whitney Cummings discussed the politics and Trump support from Roseanne on the show... "The revival’s co-showrunner, Whitney Cummings, defended the decision to adapt Roseanne for the Trump era, telling Vulture that viewers would invariably be “nettled” by something on the show: It’s not that our goal was specifically to piss anyone off, but the Roseanne writers have a commitment to the truth that I have not seen on other network shows. There’s no agenda, no judgment of the characters, just a deep devotion to the Conners’ fiscal and emotional reality. That, and a bravery around incendiary, progressive-themed stories. Laurie Metcalf - who plays Roseanne’s sister, Jackie Harris - shared one Trump-related detail about the upcoming series on this week’s WTF with Marc Maron. While Metcalf conceded that Roseanne is a Trump supporter on the show, she doesn’t know the political affiliation of any of the other characters except her own, because the show doesn’t get into the other characters’ politics. In fact, the first episode of the revival will revolve around a difference of political opinion between the two sisters, Roseanne and Jackie. “She and I have a conflict over it, but we only deal with it in the first show.” She insists that the show remains about “the family … even though we’re talking politics in that first show.” “The rift that it has caused between the sisters, as it has in other families, goes even deeper than how they voted. It makes [the sisters] go way down and see where their weird power struggle has always been. The voting highlighted these other deeper problems that have always been there.” Metcalf insists that it is in keeping with the themes of the Roseanne, a rare sitcom that can naturally handle sensitive or dramatic issues. In other words, the revival will not have a pro or anti-Trump agenda but rather - in a realistic fashion - explore how the decision to vote for Trump has divided members of the family, as it has with many families in the last year and a half."
The best TV show I grew up watching. So bold and fearless. I remember when I was a teenager getting shocked of the issues they talked about. They were very simple Americans but very political at the same time.
Cole Fortner spot on. But it shows you how Americans in the rust belt states are in real life. Someone like a Roseanne would have voted twice for Obama but then flips to Trump. That’s why at this moment Obama’s conservatives identify with her now.
They should begin the new episode with Dan saying, "What's the matter, honey? Did you have that dream again that we won the lottery, but I ended up dying from a heart attack?"
Thanks to ABC! This country NEEDS the Conner family like never before! They really put things into perspective with humour emotion and true feelings! This is MORE like REALITY tv than anything I've ever seen! Bravo for the normal AVERAGE REAL Americans!
I’m sooooo ready for tomorrow ♥️♥️♥️I cried and still do when they play the original series finale where she tells everybody Dan passed away when he had his heart attack at David & Darlene’s wedding 👰🏻🤵🏻
I am 75 do not need a cane to walk but thinking I should get one, seems to be the thing these days. Maybe a old woman will take sympathy on me I will make sure she is on top, just to make her feel strong.

I'm a fan in Germany. How do I LEGALLY watch the show from here when there's copyright-induced geoblocking? Serious answers much appreciated, in, like THIRTY HOURS OR SO...! 0.Ô SRSLY, I love this show; I grew up with it's German-dubbed export and binged all the reruns up and down. Make it accessible for international audiences, please? Maybe the Conners can explain Trump's appeal to anyone
Why did they ruin this , this coming back was the best thing of the year that made me and my wife happy and excited about TV again , and then they go and throw it all away over a funny tweet and NOT A RACIST TWEET! ABC SCREWED UP BIG TIME !
I am 37 and grew up on Roseanne. Love it. I'm a Republican, and totally have no problem with same sex marriage , preventive birth control, family values. Love it
i love it.. been tru similar situations... yall being compare to the kardasians....ummmmm .. nooooo... Keep on doing what'cha doing Roseanne love it~ always a fan
This show is awesome-- these idiots trying to punish roseanne for speaking her mind-- and joking who cares... it was not mean spirited... she has fought for minority groups for... 20 years... this show is US💙👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The shows great the only thing I will say it seem more realistic if Darlene had Becky storyline in the new reboot. I can't picture Darlene with your kids and living back with her mother she seems very independent in the 80s and 90s
How could she have said to jackie “you want people to have free healthcare because you have a good heart but you’re bad at math” the same amount of our taxes that is used for military is used for the medical industrial complex. But yet if you go to the hospital you’ll lose everything. If we didn’t also pay out of pocket that still wouldn’t make it free. I wanna know what we get for our taxes? Is it Rosannes view? Is she really ignorant of these facts i just presented? Or is it just the character? Why would she try to put that joke forward?
so they killed Dan.... brought him back to life just to say Roseanne was a drug addict and died of a overdose.. please plllleeease Tell me this show has 0 views
